Good anthology

Reads such as this should depict the truth of life lived in war ravaged countries. Westerners would enriched their knowledge base if open to explore life outside the bubble created to keep us uninformed and malleable.

Anthology of poems by three modern writers: Adonis, han repay reading, td Darwish, Samih al-Qasim. Though long faithful to complacted classical metre, in the 20th century, Arabic poetry adopted free form, and with remarkable economy of means, achieved startling effects. Of no one was this truer than Mahmud Darwish, but all of these poets who have lived in the shadow of occupation, will e than repay reading, whether in the original, or in the parallel English translation, or a combination of the two.

It is amazing the depths yielded by the traumatic life experiences of each of these writers. To have the Arabic alongside makes this work an answer to coming to grasp these writers in their experiences of statelessness, etc.
