My students love "reading" the pictures and trying to tell what is ...
This wordless book tells such a touching story. My students love "reading" the pictures and trying to tell what is happening. This book is a great addition to the classroom not only because it teaches the students to look carefully at the pictures to reveal the plot, but also because it encourages students to verbalize what they are thinking with their peers. I'm always looking for texts that encourage the students to talk to each other and this definitely helps!

precious and beautiful
"A Circle of Friends" by Giora Carmi is a very special and precious book. The stunning illustrations tell a story that reminds me a little bit of the message behind the movie "Pay It Forward". It shows how karma travels..... "what goes around, comes around". One good deed leads others to do good deeds in a chain reaction.Because the book consists of only illustrations, and no words, each "viewer" is free to interpret and provide their own words. It is universal.I can hardly say enough that is great about this beautiful book except that I highly recommend it to you.

It's easy and short so not a problem to create situations ...
I ordered this book to read to my grand children from oldest 14 to youngest 3 1/2 girl! It's easy and short so not a problem to create situations when thinking about others who may have less and be able to imagine a time when one wants to overcome the desire to run away or steer clear. But compassion and a god sense of stranger danger are important. Good book! I don't know exactly what I m poking for BUT I will recognize it when I see it!Thank you AmazonSusan Kobayashi (2016)

"Read-In-to It!"
The use of wordless picture books allows for independent and critical thinking. This wonderful wordless picture book set on the premise of a young child sharing a snack with a homeless person allows the viewer of the book to create their own story lines. Utilizing this type of text is great for the classroom and will give students opportunities to tap into creative thinking and writing.

Great book!
I love using this book in my classroom to help students visualize and make meaningful connections to the characters in the text. It is also great for looking for the 'big idea' for the overall story. I love the illustrations, and the way the focus is highlighted in color, while the rest of the details are left un-colored.

book
This is a nice book to give as a gift to children or adults. It is about paying it forward - basically what goes around, comes around. I like that it has no words. Children can read it, and tell the story themselves in their own words. Sometimes, this is better than written words.

Great for little readers!
I love this series of books. I purchased them for my 4 year old grandson but found that my 3 year old granddaughter was totally taken in by the idea that she could read too. What a great tool to get your children wanting to learn how to read!

I use this teaching children who are learning English - it's a lovely story, very well illustrated, and we make our own words up which we then write down.
