The Matrix of Tidal exclusive filter is a porous filter with a diameter of 0.4 inches (10 mm). The 1 liter matrix has just as much surface (>~700m2) as a 170 liter plastic ball. Bacteria adhere to both the outside and inside and also does not include ammonia and nitrites. Matrix is designed to be ideal grain size. Since it is not a plastic filter, it will clog the detritus or slime, but it will last longer than other filler materials, reducing the cost of replacement and work.
