These are too good and at a too good price. I have several of these at my home and also have given these to several friends and family members as gifts. They run on a 9vt battery and are really simple to use. These are crazy loud and your neighbors are almost guaranteed to hear them, making these great to leave at home while your are away. The only minor weakness is that they are not heavy and depending on your floor surface or door, they have the potential of sliding too far back, allowing the perpetrator access with out tripping the alarm. I have easily remedied that by putting a rubber mat, planter, or rug behind it to block its movement/sliding backwards. I've also used double sided tape on a linoleum kitchen floor for a great sister in my church. While travelling, I always use one of these for my hotel room as well. For outside security, you can also "Gently" place one under your front porch floor mat. Anyone snooping at night will step on the mat and activate the alarm waking up the whole neighborhood. Get a couple and let your imagination run wild with the many ways you can utilize this great device. Many Cheers your way.

The product works fine. The battery compartment cover is a little tight, but better tight, than loose and falling off. The first one that was sent did not work at all. I attempted to have the return done through the orders / history section. I selected item not working and the response I got was item was not available for return. Really?? Well then I had to go hunting for a contact number because one way or another, I was going to get a replacement or my money back. I found a way to get a representative to help and from that point, it was smooth sailing. I got the replacement the next day, and it worked great. Yes, agreed with other reviews, its VERY LOUD, which is exactly why I wanted it to begin with.

Two cons: delivery time and price.Ordered April 20th and delivered May 23rd so regular shipping of this door alarm will take a bit more than a month.During that same time period, the price went up 43% from $2.37/unit to $3.40/unit. It is still reasonable, but not as good as a deal as it used to be.Otherwise, the unit works! Design is simple and quality is good.Put this at the bottom of an entry door for peace of mind. If someone wants to force its way in...alarm will go off. It will not stop an intrusion, but it might scare the intruder away and you will be warned that someone tried to force its way in.

This is a preliminary review that does not discuss my long term assessment of this item. I ordered three of these. They arrived in three days, two weeks before I was told they would arrive. Shipping time was very impressive. For the cost, this unit seems to be substantially constructed. It is a sturdy device made of heavy duty plastic and aluminum. It also has a hefty weight about it. The overall appearance, construction and heft is actually better than I had hoped.It takes a 9 volt, which is not included. The battery compartment is also impressive: the battery is well-wedged; there is little possibility of it accidently coming loose. The battery compartment door also closes very securely.I found that the units I bought will sound an alarm if the sensitivity setting (Low-Medium-High) is set on High when inserting the battery. Placing the setting on Low when inserting the battery solved this minor issue.You might want to first set off the alarm with a pillow over the device ... it is VERY loud.In the future I hope to address a problem others have noticed, in that the unit will not remain secure but will slide along the floor. I'll check this out.Overall, this is a substantial little device that appears to be well made. I'll make a follow up report later.

I bought both this and one of the GE alarm stoppers. The GE got sent back, this one stayed and is going strong two years later.The alarm is very loud, and compared to the GE model, has one huge advantage: once the alarm is triggered, it keeps ringing, even if the door is pulled back shut and no longer depressing the wedge. You have to shut it off with a switch on the back to reset.This is much better than the GE model which turns off as soon as pressure is released. If someone was coming through they door and heard the alarm, they'd most likely pull it back shut right away and find some other way in. I'm not sure a 2 second blast would wake me up to investigate. The full on blast not shutting off without manual intervention of this brand would definitely wake me up.Other than that big advantage, I found the two to be of similar quality.

I bought two of these, one for my Aunt who lives alone and one for myself when I travel. It works wonderfully and is very loud which is great if you are a heavy sleeper. The on/off switch is a nice feature. My Aunt was thinking of just hanging bells or something on her door at night, but when I found this product she was thrilled. She says she sleeps a little better at night knowing she will hear this alarm if anyone should ever try to break in her home. When traveling, I put this in front of my hotel door or vacation rental door. It makes my entire family feel a little safer when we are in another city away from the comforts of home.

This product gave me a piece of mind, but you should definitely test it first. I live in an apartment and the building won't allow chains on the door, which in my old apartment gave me that extra piece of mind so I decided to get this door alarm. There are a lot of maintance people with keys so that always made me a little apprehensive.I would definitely recommend you TEST THIS ON YOUR DOOR FIRST! The first time I tried it I put it under my door and had my husband open the door. The door stop just slid on the floor, then I tried it with the door mat and it just slid on the door mat, it did go off, but it was more open then I would have wanted it to be. Item arrived in time and as described. Alarm is very loud, so does the job! Good idea for anyone travelling, or staying in hotels alone.
