Adrenaline Rush
With his first novel, Bill Habeeb could do for free dental clinics what Robert Bloch and "Psycho" did for showers.Penny and "the kid," who can't remember his past, not even his name, are hunted by a cohort of armed men, anonymous in their black helmets and uniforms, and relentless in their pursuit. What's the connection between the pursuers and the mysterious dental implants containing embedded electronics that the kid, Penny, and a growing number of the public discover have been inserted in their mouths without their knowledge? The kid and Penny struggle to find an explanation while facing the constant threat of capture. The reader is caught up from the very first sentences and swept along by the action and suspense. Even during the strategic breathers there's an ominous sense that something bad is about to happen. In the midst of the action, there's a very funny encounter with The Society for Welcoming Extra Terrestrial Travelers (SWETT, which members insist on pronouncing "sweet"). The leader of the group has his own blog, and Habeeb's send-up of it is dead-on and hilarious.I look forward to Bill Habeeb's next book.

A hell of a lot of fun
Breakneck pace - pitch-perfect dialog - intriguing characters - mind-bending surprises - and a megalomanic villain who calls himself GOD. I loved it.

An engaging story
Aimed at a younger crowd than me, but an engaging story with an unusual plot and interesting characters. Looking for another book about the same people.

original and funny as hell
Implants is certainly the best book I've read in 2013. fast paced, ingeniously plotted, very funny, hard for me to believe this is this authors first book. I am ready for the second.

Scary story, almost plausible
well written, crazy plot, veers dangerously toward the probable. excellent characterization. read it, then read it again. come by my place, we can smoke some hash and talk it over. mind your choppers, and don't take any wooden nickels.

Great novel!
A great read. The book begins immediately with action and doesn't let up until the last page. Habeeb creates a fantasy that could happen in reality. I look forward to reading more by this creative author.
