I’ve been using the LG UltraGear monitor and I’m genuinely impressed with it. It feels like a great do-it-all screen for both gaming and everyday PC use, and the white design looks amazing in a setup with lighter or earthy tones. Picture quality is the biggest win for me. The 4K resolution at 32 inches looks extremely sharp for games and text, and the IPS panel gives colors a clean, vibrant look with good viewing angles. It’s great for anything from web browsing and school/work to watching videos and playing games with lots of detail. For gaming, the 144Hz refresh rate makes everything feel noticeably smoother than 60Hz, especially in fast camera movement or FPS games. Input feels quick and responsive, and the VRR support with both NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium helps a lot with keeping gameplay smooth and reducing tearing when frame rates fluctuate. The HDR 400 is a nice bonus, but I’d describe it as decent HDR rather than mind-blowing. It gives highlights a bit more pop and improves contrast in some scenes, but it’s not going to look like high-end HDR on a mini-LED or OLED. Still, it’s a solid feature to have and I like using it when the game supports it well. Connectivity is also a strong point. Having HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C makes it easy to use with a desktop PC, laptop, and even consoles depending on your setup. I like that it feels flexible instead of being locked into one type of device. Overall, this monitor feels like a premium upgrade, sharp 4K clarity, smooth 144Hz performance, great color from the IPS panel, and a design that actually looks clean and intentional on the desk. If you want a monitor that performs well and also fits a softer, aesthetic setup, I’d definitely recommend it.

Monitor is good, software is relatively fast, took about 3 minutes to set it up when first connected... Exceptionally well constructed, the base stand is quality metal, sturdy, well painted feels good to the touch and monitor has a nice light on the back that can be turned off. Balanced in terms of gaming/work. I do programming mostly and text is clear, sharp, bright and easy to read, while gaming is great, and i am very thankful that is matte... can work on the day with no issue, very little reflections. The sound is acceptable enough to the point i removed my external speakers and rely only on the monitor sound. One VERY important thing. Like any other 4k 144hz+ monitor, you really need a video card that can handle that..... otherwise you will get limited hz or dull colors due to bandwidth issues. Overall i rate this 9/10.

I purchased this monitor and received it July 29. I am writing this review on October 16 of the same year. Last weekend I attempted to turn on this device. This monitor which I have BABIED since receiving it. I mean 2-person lift and set up so that there was zero risk of bumping, bruising or damage. It has not moved from what was determined to be the PERMANENT spot for what I hoped would be a beautiful addition to my custom gaming set up. Fast forward to last Sunday when I - after a long week at work planned to play a game with my partner. DEAD. Like, not even the funny kind of dead where you get all kinds of glitched errors and funny color and then nothing. No Star Trek anomaly to solve. Just dead like the Gen Z stare at your local coffee shop. I tried everything I could think of - dug into my college days where I was a campus IT student tech and ran through the regular routine. Off. On. New cables, different ports. All the ports. Nothing. Tried the stupid remote to get the Web OS (which thrives on annoying the crap out of you every chance it gets) and still nothing. Just DEAD. I try to engage amazon for a return. No dice, I have to go through LG. So I go through the painful experience of the online account, providing all the personal and product information and attempt to request a warranty replacement. Except LG doesn't DO warranty replacements. They'll attempt to repair your unit only. Parts and labor. I speak to an agent online because of COURSE you can't schedule your own online repair. You have to go through the incredibly PAINFUL process of providing said online agent ALL THE SAME INFORMATION YOU MADE THE ACCOUNT WITH BECAUSE, FOR SOME REASON A TECHNOLOGY MANUFACTURER CAN'T CONNECT THEIR SYSTEMS. After more than an hour, I'm finally told that I will receive a shipping label by mail to send back my monitor. By their generous grace I'm also offered a box to send my $800 gaming monitor in. If I'm really lucky they'll let ME buy the packing peanuts, HOORAY! I have had LG monitors since 2015. I have been a repeat customer and this year, before this debacle, convinced my husband to purchase TWO of the non USB-C monitors because I PROMISED him they would last us for YEARS. Guess that's egg on my face. Thanks LG for taking my money and selling me literal sh*t. I'll never buy from you again.

I am not sure why no one is saying this - but it needs to be clarified that this monitor will ONLY display 4K@144 Hz. If you are using a docking station, have older HDMI or Display Port cables or are using a cable adapter that is only 4K@60 then it will not detect the video signal at all. You must be HDMI 2.1 and 144Hz or higher rated all the way through. Otherwise, you will just be set for a frustrating time. I tried to connect this to a Mac only to find out my dock and other components were not compatible. I mistakenly thought this monitor would adjust its refresh rate down to 4K@60. IT WILL NOT. So take this as a grain of salt and a word of warning.

PROS: - EXELENT QUALITY IN BRIGHT / WHITE COLORS. - GOOD FOR GAMMING LIKE WARZONE. CONS: - TOO MUCH BACKLIGHT BLEEDING FOR ME, I WOULD PREFER LESS BECAUSE I USE IT FOR CODING. - FLICKERING IN NVIDIA 1660 SUPER BUT IS BECAUSE THE DRIVER, AFTER UPDATING IT'S OK.
