I use this on my 12 ft mast in my garden, for various flags I hoist during the year, ( I was 22 years in the Royal Navy and have lots of nation flags to hoist on their national days) I have never found it to degrade in anyway, so far (only had for about 18 months) but if it does then I will just cut another bit and rehoist my flags .... I know that doesn't strickly answer your question but I am saying what I use it for it hasn.t degraded in anyway .... so far ..... G
