Does the bag "stand up" alone if not full (as shown) ?

I bought the Heshe. Bought both. Neither stand returned to try black as shown and On receiving it I automatically disliked it! Cheap looking! The Heshe is studded on bottom. zipper on top! Everything about it looked nicer.

The photos of the black bag are conflicting on the color of the hardware. Is it gold or silver? Both are shown in the photos. Thank you.
