Edifier R12U 2 Watt 2.0 Channel Bookshelf Speaker (Black)

These speakers have good Mids/Highs and a Warm Signature, honestly didn't expect them to sound that good given the price point.The Bass is on the lower side (as expected as these have not been designed as a 2.1 replacement)They are decently loud enough to fill a small sized room (eg. A 20ft * 10ft room) and we must also take into point they are usb powered.For a casual movie watch/ audio streaming they should do the job for people who dont care much about the bass.They dont disort atleast till 80% of the volume... haven't tried beyond that.The build and overall finish is good, the speakers dont have a grill ( maybe a cost cutting strategy...but i'm fine with that )Some people have complained that the volume knob had developed issues post a few months of usage, so keeping that in mind i don't use the volume knob. The volume is being directly controlled from the PC that its conmected to ( with the volume knob being kept at 80 )... So far haven't come across any issues. Hoping them to last atleast for a year as for the price they really sound good and i guess there arent any comparable 2 speaker alternatives below the price point ( i have used an iBall and they did sound meh...) Also heard quite a lot of good reviews about Creative Pebbles but they cost twice the money (but still do give them a look)Overall they are bang for the buck, does exactly what its intended to do ..i would say 10/10 considering the sound quality and build quality. l'm taking bass out of the context as for these are only for casual listening.

First of all, I'd like to call myself an audiophile (mostly into headphones tho), and stuck at my home sitting in front of a computer, I wanted something good for casual listening without spending too much.And it's jaw droppingly good. As in, the frequency response is totally flat down till the 200Hz mark. (I used a frequency generator lol). I was planning to equalize it, but then didnt need to. The bass response of course is subdued, and vanishes around the 60-70Hz mark; but if you know what you're buying, you wouldn't be expecting that in the first place. Just proper bookshelf speakers placement w.r.t. your head would guarantee an amazing and engrossing listen.

It worked well 2-4 days , then it started showing issues with sound. During the play, volume tend to go down low and up gradully. Also the Sound from headphone jack is too low and there is now way to increase it using the volume button on the speaker. so disappointing, have to return it.

These are not your average 2.0 speakers from Chinese companies. But like all good acoustic products- you will need to tune several parameters before you get that perfect sound. In my observation- The bass is above average- trebles very nice , but the Mids need some improvement. You might need an equalizer and play with them to see what suits you most.Mind you - they are darn good speakers for the price but just not plug and play. And dont connect them to a mobile or TV- they are PC speakers and meant to play well with sound cards.

I have never owned a pair of EDIFIER speakers. I have owned Altec lansing, Philips and Sony over the years but never EDIFIER and so I bought this pair with some skepticism although I read good reviews. It is not a loud speaker, but that's ok, the beauty is in the detail. If you listen to this speaker in a 10x10 ft or 12x12 ft room alone with your favorite music you'll understand the power of this little speaker. The detail! the detail is marvelous!It does not perform equally on all genres of music. It is really good for vocal tracks, jazz, blues, country and dream pop. Figure out your musical taste first and invest in this speaker.These are PC speakers, not phone speakers. It needs to be connected to a PC USB or 5V/1A charging port to operate in its full capacity. You will not get the full performance when you play via a phone's 3.5mm jack.

Looking for a budget purchase. Then this is a good buy. The quality of the speaker is tantamount to the price of the product.
