Does this model have temp controls?

No, there is no temperature control. I use it weekly and have never had a problem with the temperature it is preset for. Burgers, grilled cheese, chicken, etc.

How can I purchase another control panel cord for this grill? I had it for six months and love it! The kids did something with the cord...

I would contact the seller, give them the model/serial number and tell them you need a replacement heating element. Also tell them you've only had it 6 months and maybe they'll replace for free or at least a discount.

If you don't have a dishwasher, are you OK to just wash the grill plates? Or is it safe to soak everything in a regular kitchen sink to wash it?

Its ok to just wash the grill plates and yes its ok soak in kitchen sink but not the electrical unit. That should never be soaked in water or under water faucet.

They also have slots for the grease to drain into the drip tray below. And, the best difference is that you can put the bronze plates in the dishwasher! Hope that helps.
