Dissapointing Purchase
I had been waiting ages to get a hold of this record. As soon as it became available again on vinyl, I bought it. WOW am I dissapointed. Not only are several instruments and melodies completly inaudible, but the quality is absolute garbage. Also, although it says "Stereo" it is not. This is a stereo record with a mono recording. Same sounds come out of the left and right ear. It looks like I'm going back to the youtube version, since it has stereo, and the main melodies are actually audible. The audio quality on the record is so bad I can't stand it. I wasnt expecting much in the first place, as this album is very old, but it's worse than the Youtube version, and I payed $40. Sad to say I'll be requesting a refund.TL:DR BUYER BEWARE, Terrible Quality, NOT STEREO, Missing Intstruments, Youtube version is easier to obtain, and it's free.

Very Important Information Missing (Amazon Notified)
I already have original version of this album, but my nephew was wanting it for Christmas so I ordered it for him. I just had it delivered today to see that it is very heavy weighteds 2 lps (guessing 180 gram maybe 200) but it's also recorded in 45 RPM. It surely feels as heavy as my King Crimson 200 gram "Court of the Crimson King" album. This would be important information for anyone who doesn't have 45 rpm on their players. Even the "Editorial Review" doesn't let the buyer know that this is a 45 rpm or that it is a much heavier vinyl. It's a wonderful album, and thankfully, my nephew has the 45 rpm and will enjoy listening to a very high quality recording. I only gave it one less star because of the poor labeling by Amazon. FYI I sent notification to Amazon about the error.

Great electronic classic given a a cheap low budget reissue
Well its great to finally have this on cd but the cd label did a rather cheap thrown together job on this cd- a cheap looking single booklet- with basic liner notes that most already know about- the music is great and its a shame that fifth dimension went the cheap route. A few years back the Omni Recording label was going to release Ataraxia/ black mass Lucifer on cd- but didn't! Its a shame as that label puts together great reissues with extensive liner notes -pics etc. I have the original vinyl which came with a cool booklet about plants and music etc but theres nothing here from that - surely the label could have added a few pages from this or pics etc.. even the cd seems thin and the graphics on it cheaply done. Now the music is top notch 70s electronic music composed by Garson in a brighter happier mode then his previous darker occult themed albums but it still sounds inventive playful and one of a kind..... so I have to recommend it without question.

My favorite album
I came across this album a few years ago and instantly fell in love. When I tried to find it in CD form, I was sad to find that didn't exist. One day I was watching a random video and the background music was Plantasia! I was so excited and decided to search again and found out it was in print!! I didn't even hesitate. I ordered it and listen to it constantly. The booklet has some history about the composer and the songs and even has a little spot in the back giving some advice for your plants which I think is a lovely touch.I saw some complaints about the sound being weird but I didn't notice anything like that. Perhaps those were outliers or maybe I just didn't notice, but that's something to keep in mind.

Lacking quality
Vinyl is on a nice, thick pressing, but has subpar sound quality. I personally do not have the original pressing so I cannot make a completely accurate distinction from the actual quality of the recording and this specific pressing, however, it sounds only marginally better than the Youtube rip of the album. Also, some of the tracks seem to be missing a mixing channel -- the melody is almost completely inaudible for track 5.

amazing album, meh pressing
I really like this for the art, but it plays dusty even though it was shrink wrapped when I got it

Nostalgia!
I bought this as a 33 rpm album in about 1971 or 1972. As the years went by--and vinyl went out of style--I gave the album away. However, I really missed that music. It was my "music to relax by." I was so glad to find this as digital on Amazon. All these years--and I still love that "music to relax by."

Buyer beware
Such a great album. Such a shoddy digitization. Garson was pretty obscure, so it makes sense that they used vinyl as the source material for this CD. I'm not sure what happened, but the first five tracks on this CD seem to be mixed from only one channel on the original album, and it sounds like it's in mono. The last five tracks are in stereo and contain both channels, but the first half of this CD lacks the depth and the richness of the original album. On top of that, while the vinyl had segues between each track, the people who released this CD decided to add several seconds of silence between each track, and it really detracts from the overall quality. With the almost $20 price tag on this, you're better off listening to an original vinyl rip that you can find on the internet.

Sacred Bones 2019 authorised reissue
*2019 Sacred Bones reissue*At long last, an authorised reissue of Mort Garson’s 1976 album. It's not from the master tapes but Sacred Bones Records have done a fantastic job mastering and cleaning up the sound from the best vinyl copy they could find. The sound quality really is fabulous.Recorded at the height of the USA’s The Secret Life of Plants boom, this album was originally only available to customers who bought a houseplant from Mother Earth in Los Angeles and the music is designed to help them grow. It’s a lovely free flowing mix of progressive, cosmic and playful Moog music and as the subtitle suggests, it's surprisingly warm and comforting, especially for electronic music. The CD booklet features a reproduction of the original Mother Earth’s Indoor Plant Care booklet. There have been a few shockingly poor unauthorised reissues over the years and Amazon are mixing up the reviews so that this review is also showing next to bootleg resissues - make sure you buy the Sacred Bones reissue !**It's 2020 and Sacred Bones have released a vinyl 45rpm "audiophile edition" of Plantasia, using the master tapes** Sacred Bones reissue

One of the best albums ever.
Absolutely amazing album. Probably one of the greatest albums I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to. It’s soothing, thought provoking and genuinely magical. I’d describe listening to Plantasia to be like going on a journey to a fantasy land, where everything is as perfect as can be.

Magnífica reedición.
Magnífico sonido, no es la versión de Youtube. Es una versión que se acerca mucho más a la edición original del álbum. Escucharlo con un buen equipo de sonido es indispensable. Magnífico álbum, obra maestra.

Misleading album cover.
I so looked forward to get my hands on Garson’s legendary Plantasia album, only to find out that the sound quality is on par with the CDs one would find in a shady Asian back alley. Granted, had I known of this flaw beforehand, I would probably have ended up buying it anyway – albeit questioning the high price. What annoys me with this item, is the complete lack of information regarding its shoddy sound quality.Anyway, and more importantly, my plants have started to grow at an unsettling speed.
