The hype behind Victorinox's kitchen knives is REAL :)
If anyone else here has tried looking for kitchen knives online, a quick Google search will show lots of people recommending Victorinox's cheapest range of kitchen knives as great, sharp knives that are affordable to beginners and home-cooks, and yet still used by career chefs and professional kitchens (such as America's Test Kitchen). So, faced with a drawer full of slightly dulled knives, and annoyed that I can't finely cut a slice of lime without massacring it, I decided to try this chef's knife... I ordered the slightly smaller model than the standard chef's knife that seems to be recommended everywhere online, but it's still a chef's knife from the same range of fibrox-handled kitchen knives (just slightly smaller). Despite this, upon arrival the size is definitely large enough for pretty much all the situations you're going to use this knife for in the kitchen... Okay, I'll get to the point - how does it feel and how does it cut? Firstly, the fibrox handle feels great! The hand position is comfortable, the material of the handle feels pebbley, slightly grippy and definitely higher quality than the standard plastic knife handles you're used to. And IT CUTS GREAT! Testing the knife out on all sorts of things from carrots to apples, to herbs and to limes: it's just refreshing to have a properly sharp knife that cuts through all-manner of subjects with ease. Finally I can make those ultra-thin slices of lime too ;). With care and maintenance, I can definitely see this knife as being someone's 'main knife' for all their kitchen needs, as it seems to do everything you'd want it to do, much better than you're probably used to. Yes, I'm not a professional chef - but if you want their opinion, feel free to Google it and find their glowing reviews of Victorinox's fibrox kitchen knife range too. What I can definitely say is, this knife is very affordable for how premium it feels and how effortlessly well it performs, so if you're in the market for a kitchen knife in this kind of budget - stop looking, and just go with this one!

light, sharp, durable, affordable! 100% satisfied and can't recommend it enough!
As a professional chef, I am so pleased with this amazing, beautifully crafted, and surprisingly affordable knife. The great point of choosing Victorinox Santoku knife is, famous of this durable, long lasting sharp, amazingly light weight and Ergonomically designed handle, easy to maintain, versatile use from detail delicate julienne to cutting big, hard veggies. I use small shaping knife as well as my favourite, which is also great mobility and flexibility. Overall, I am a big fan of Victorinox knives and can recommend its products 100%!!

Brilliant
Why did I wait forty years to get a decent knife? This arrived yesterday and I used it today, it goes through onions and carrots with such ease, I can actually chop rather than slice. It wasn't as good with parsnips but was still good enough and better than my old knife. It is a bit smaller and lighter than I expected, I'll probably buy a longer one later. It's well balanced and comfortable to use. I already had the paring and tomato knives which I love. I'm really pleased,I have Duypuytrens and I needed to protect my hands from strain.

Victorinox 20cm Broad Blade classic chef’s knife
I’m late coming to Victorinox chefs knives. The classic knives have slightly thinner handles than the fibrox making them more comfortable in my opinion. I’ve only used the knife a few times at home so far. But I’ve been using Victorinox at work for a couple of years now. Out of the box the knife is very sharp. This broad blade 20 cm chefs knife is perfect as a all round kitchen knife. The broader blade is great for slicing harder veg like carrots and swede. These knives are easy to sharpen on a whetstone with a bit of practice. Victorinox chefs knives are great value for money and perform as good as much more expensive knives in my humble opinion.

The only knife you will ever need. Had to buy a new one only because I lost my old one which was the same.
