VIDAPOOL In/Above Ground Pool Pump, Self Primming High Flow (Single Speed, 2HP, 8120 GPH, 220V)

So far so good. My Pentair variable speed pump motor died. I bought it a few years ago for $800, now $2395!!! Stunning. its been a good pump, but really - $2400? That is an insane mark-up. Other than the electronic controller, which as all the electronics of a blender, its really constructed the same as a $400 booster pump. So . . . Thinking there must be something else and needing a pump fast I took a chance on this one. I was not sure if it would have the power needed to run a really big pool (55K gal). Plumbed it with quick connect fittings and a plug to power. Primed, pushed the button and it powered right up. Three weeks running strong and no issues. Sure, its not as sturdy or serviceable as the Pentair. But, at $250 with a 3 year warranty, if it runs 2.5 years and gives out, I can run through 10 of these over a very long period and still be under the Pentair cost. Yes, its not variable speed, but it draws under 10 amps, at 3 HP so its pushing a lot or water through the filter at fairly low power consumption. With expectations in line, I am pleased so far.

Very easy to install, the fittings were correct for either 1.5” or 2.0” rigid PVC, whichever your existing set up is. Someone mentioned that the fittings were incorrect, that is not the case. The opening of the fittings were very slightly larger than my 1.5”, but there is a second step down in the fitting which grips and glues perfectly with no leaks. Wiring was straight forward. The timer function is very simple and easy to understand. It is so quiet I was shocked. It has as much power or better than my original Hayward pump. Longevity, we’ll have to see, but if you register it, you get an additional 1 year warranty on top of the 2 year, and one free replacement.

I replaced a aging Pentair pump that finally just gave up and died after more than 15 yrs of use. This pump purchase has proven to be a great replacement. It is very quiet and self priming feature works well. Installation was very easy and only took about an hour. Just be sure to use the supplied connections as the threads are a little different than standard. I contacted the vendor for this product about the connectors and received a very fast reply which was very informative. Great support!! Would buy again if the need arises.

Worked perfectly as a replacement. Fit our pool and so far no leaks! Great power and was easy to swap out.

Took 45 min of fitting changes from an old Hayward entire 1 HP, then 15 min to hook up electrical and it is working flawlessly. The timer works great and the pool vac has never worked better. 30,000 gallon inground salt pool is crystal clear. Extremely quiet and going up to 1 1/2 hp made a huge difference. The skimmer works so much better. I highly recommend it. Then register it and get another year of replacement warranty. I love it. Price is great. To replace my Hayward with the same would have cost 4 times more.
