Dura-Trel Kingston Pergola

when I first took this out of the boxes I thought, oh my goodness how on earth am I going to set this up....it did take a bit of doing...you'll need someone to help you put all the legs on as one person can't do that alone...also, it comes with steel inserts for the legs to be secured but I didn't put those in when I first set it up. I wanted to see how it would line up first so I put the thing together then inserted the steel inserts one at a time in the back only. Since this is sitting on an already paved patio, I took out one each of the pavers and found each leg fit perfectly in the spot that the pavers left. I dug down the eight inches, inserted the steel inserts, put a bit of cement on the top and placed the legs, one at a time on them.....not easy but it sure made them straight. For the front end, I really didn't want to take out more pavers ( not to mention that they just were not budging) so I just bought a couple of "L" brackets, big ones and screwed them into the x where the pavers came together then filled it with cement and secured each to the legs of the pergola. I imagine this would work for all legs but we get some crazy winds (today's almost took a tree out) but the pergola DID NOT MOVE AN INCH! WOO HOO! Now, I'm a 65 year old female who loves to do DIY so this was quite a project for me but it only took me a few hours to put it together then to dig the holes, etc. Definitely worth it and is quite beautiful in the end!

Love it!! Exactly what I was looking for and at a reasonable price. It took my friend a couple of hours to assemble. It is pretty sturdy, but on a recent windy day it swayed a little so I will try to add something else to anchor it down.

Great for the $. Easy to put together but do need 2 people. I would definitely buy white planters got each post . I filled half with sand and either plants ( jasmine is great) or white marble rocks. It stabilizes it and looks great

Looks fantastic! Not the most sturdy, but once anchored it does the trick. We live in a fairly windy area and while it will flex, it seems to hold up just fine.

Arrived without hardware bag for assembly. When the hardware came from manufacturer, we discovered that the support beams were 5.5" tall, but four of the slots on the posts that they are supposed to fit into are 5.25" tall. Called manufacturer's customer service line, which went immediately to voicemail, and got no callback. We routed out the slots and proceeded with assembly. But could have built the thing out of lumber in less time that it took to modify and assemble this junk. BUYER BEWARE---DO NOT BUY IT!!!!

After looking at countless numbers of pergolas I decided to give this one a try. Shipping was quick, Instructions were clear, and with a little assistance from a friend, I had this up in about an hour. The sturdiness of the unit all depends on how you attach it to the ground. Mine was free floating inside of a deck. With a few angle braces on each leg, it became more than sturdy enough to convince me that no high wind would effect it. Overall I'm quite happy with the product for ease of erection, quality of the product, and most of all, the price.

It was pretty easy to put together, but there were missing parts. You'd think that they'd see these reviews and try to count them better... but I guess not.

What an awesome product! Everything came in great shape, no missing pieces. Although it was a bit challenging for me to do by myself, it was still a fun and very gratifying project... and it looks AMAZING! Highly recommend.
