the title for the review pretty much says it all. had i realized the length of the book and who published it I might not have purchased it. Walter Foster books are really very basic,basic,basic. this does not mean they are not good books. I just prefer lengthier explanations for some things, especially Chinese brush strokes.The sellers were very good and sent the book in a timely manner

Thin book with very good technique explained. Good price, very good explanation of materials/form/technique. Worth the [small] price.-I had to buy this copy for a friend, as I did not wish to part with my own copy.

The book has enough simple instructions for a beginner. However, it needs clarity and some cherry blossoms, evergreens, roses, mountains and maybe an orchid or a lily pond!The kitten, cat, penguins, reddish frog and elephant could have been left out.They are uncommon subjects and not inclusive for my taste.

The book is nice and all - little reference with practical guidance.However, the pictures in the book are not very original - nearly all of them are presented in Chinese Brush Painting Kit: Professional materials and step-by-step instruction for the aspiring artist by Lucy Wang, which also comes with paints, brushes, etc.

A handy little book that I use a reference when I need a reminder as the best way to paint a subject. It would also be a good book for a beginner or anyone wanting to practice their technique.

Wonderful beginners guide to Chinese Brush Painting. A great way for water colorist to enjoy a challenge.

I found this book to be interesting, I thought it would be bigger and have more content , however I found it useful.

Again Lucy Wang does not dissapoint with this book. Clearly illustrated, she takes you through the motions step by step making chinese brush painting a lot easier than it looks.

This book is by the same author as one bought recently. It has clear detailed instructions, and plenty of animals to learn how to paint them.

this is a nice little book, and has more information in it than most book, and its content is very different and more informative than other books. would recommend it to others.

Reasonable value for money- it doesnt cost much, but I think I expected more how to information, on brush techniques for specific shapes and styles. I think you can get as mush or more from looking at free youtube tutorials.
