Just under 14 oz -- weighed it just now (w/sleeve on) on my kitchen scale

Q: Do the wind vents make a difference?

the wind vents only make a difference for me when the wind is not hitting the umbrella straight on. if it does that i will push the vents down and not allow the air to escape. So yes it makes a difference but not in all conditions. In normal wind its fine.

Q: What is the size when open?

According to https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-umbrella/, the canopy when opened is between 37 and 39 inches. I find it sufficient.

Q: Is this umbrella "golf sized"?
