tldr; This stuff works. No more rough idle for my rx8. Be aware your car may smoke for more than anyone online tells you(I was told 10 minutes, and mine smoked for 3 days LMAO). And it will smoke HARD for AT LEAST 10 minutes. It will be hard to see. Do it outside with plenty of ventilation. Follow directions online for YOUR SPECIFIC MAKE AND MODEL! People will point out the smoke, "hey did you know your car is smoking?!" Yes. Yes I know. I daily a Mazda Rx8, the infamous "unreliable" rotary powered Japanese sports car. When I first got the car, it had power issues, and would frequently turn off in the middle of intersections. Took it to the shop, and surprisingly, there were no compression issues. The issue was a failed catalytic converter. Well, after replacing the cat, the thing ran like new. However, there were some rough idles occasionally. After a few hundred miles after the repairs, the idle got worse. I was told by a guy that used to race these things that a failed cat can cause back pressure that can then cause excess carbon buildup. He said to "seafoam it". Following the directions for my specific make and model, it took about 4 hours (only 20 minutes of prep) to let my car soak before starting it up again. Man, DID IT SMOKE!! The car had never been seafoam before, I doubt, so it continued to smoke even after 30 minutes of idling with me revving it to 6k about 20 times, and driving for 15 minutes, hard. I began to panick, however with some research and advice from seafoam themselves, a car may continue to smoke for days of driving, and not to panic. All in all, my car runs amazingly. It feels more responsive, it NEVER idles rough. Highly recommend.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I've used this in the past and it works well with my vehicle.

One of my cars was throwing up a check engine light and the code said "System idle too lean, bank 1," I believe. I can't remember if that was the exact code or not because after using one can of this miracle stuff - IT HASN'T BEEN BACK!!! Car is an '07, and not a daily driver. I probably use it once a week at most. Don't think I've even put but maybe 1,000 miles on it since using this treatment (at most, probably half that.) I just passed the 85K mile mark on the odometer. I started the car, got it up to idle temperature, and then funneled the straw straight into the intake with the included guard that allowed me to clamp down the intake hose and still have it suck in filtered air through the intake filter. Hardest part was holding down that nozzle for the entire time it took to empty the can. A couple things to consider - point the car's exhaust away from your house. Trust me. And after you dump the whole can into the running engine (again, wait until it is at idle temperature,) go ahead and rev it a few times until your entire block is blanketed in smoke. Do this until the smoke stops coming out the fart pipes. This product was a cheap and really easy way to clean out many years of carbon deposits. I highly recommend it. You can find videos online of others that have used it and watch just how well it works.

I was skeptical about trying it but after all the great reviews I had to try it and boy I’m glad I did. Got this because I had a po420 code on my 20 year old van. It’s a beater and I’m not trying to buy cats for it just to pass state inspection. Just like the youtube guys did I sprayed this into the o2 sensor hole. Won’t get into the story about removing it but it was rough. Anyway sprayed the Seafoam in there and let it sit for a few hours. Half of it ended up on the driveway because of a rotted section of exhaust but whatever. Started it up and it smoked like crazy for about 15-20 minutes. Looked like them LA takeovers on my block lol. As soon as I drove it I could immediately notice a difference. Wasn’t the dog it’s been last few years. I’ve filled up with 2 tanks of gas so far and the light hasn’t come back on yet. This is even with half the can ending up on the driveway! My son’s car now has the code so I’ll be doing this on his car next. Absolutely great product I tell everyone that has an old beater with the light on to try this. What do you got to loose?
