Awesome for backpacking/hiking
I have used an older version of this rod for a couple of years until the tip broke last week. It was my fault it broke. So I'm happy to replace it with the same product. Except it isn't exactly the same, it seems to be slightly beefed up. I'm reviewing the smallest one you can buy btw, 1.8m I believe. The old rod of the same length had 4 eyes, this one has 5, which is an upgrade for sure. The handle feels better in my hand, it's slightly larger. The rod extended is about 3 inches longer than the old one, not a big difference, but worth noting. It is slightly heavier, and as a person that uses this while hiking or backpacking, it is why I knocked this version down a star in the lightweight category. Overall, not a big deal though, I'll still happily use it while hiking. Which brings me to the main benefit of this rod; it's very easy to hike with. It collapses down quickly and easily. It's easy to either hold while hiking or keep it in my backpack while backpacking without it sticking out of the pack and catching itself on things. Really cool rod and I recommend it.

Best value for your money for travel.
I went on a 2 month tour consisting of 12 major cities. I was able to fish everywhere with this travel rod. Its lightweight but feels very durable, it feels very well made. From pond fishing to coastal beach/pier fishing this thing works everywhere. I bout the 8'9" model, greatttttt casting distance with it. Its a medium to heavy rod, abit more on the heavy side, the 8'9" collapses down to inly 17" so it fit in all my luggage peices and even my backpack for fishing. I think i might buy the 5' aswell, better for small pond fishing. 9' may look abit silly for pond fishing, but good for zalt water fishing.

Truck or backpack carry
Haven't had a chance to use it yet. Need to buy a reel that will fit it. Something light with a 4 pound line . Keep it it in my truck in case I come across a possible fishing spot. Also my backpack for creek or river fishing. Don't think it's made for salt water and especially with light gear and line. Seems fairly well made. Hope it holds up.

Great for the backcountry
I've had a lot of fun with this rod. I pack it on my motorcycle and go fishing in the backcountry or keep it in my truck or take it in the kayak. It's compact, durable, and easy to use. My friend liked mine so much, he had to buy one too.

Needs to be treated very delicately
It looks nice, and the size was perfect for a little backpack ultralight rig. But it was too light, and broke the fist time I gave a yank to try and get a lure out of a tree. It was 4 lb test line, so I wasn't being that careful, figuring the lure would either pop out or the line would break, but instead the pole broke. One could argue that this was my fault, and I can't entirely disagree. I could have pulled the line by hand and not used the pole. Or one could argue that an ultralight rod should not break before 4 lb test fishing line breaks. This rod doesn't need to be this light, but it does need to be stronger, IMHO. But its cheap, so if you remember to treat it fairly carefully, and don't let anyone else use it, it will probably work OK for you for the price.

Good product
I've purchased about 3 of these rods in the last couple of years just cuz they can take a beating and perform like a pro....unbeatable price for the quality... last trip I caught 4 kudas over 15# each....

Worth the price, great buy.
I was very impressed and surprised with the quality of this fishing rod. It is a quality piece and well worth the price. I travel a lot and I love to fish while I’m out there moving around. I have a smaller telescoping rod for streams and ponds, but you need something bigger for further casting in larger bodies of water so this is a perfect addition to my gear.

This is an amazing fishing rod! May they never stop manufacturing! Pulled in a large walley with no issues.

Easy to travel with but a complete wast of money. Landed 1 trout, maybe 3lbs and the rod broke to many pieces.
