ONIMONOGATARI: Demon Tale

What else is there to say? I love this series. Each chapter is just the main character having a conversation as the mystery unravels by the end. It's fun, Japanese, and thought-provoking. I've read every book so far and can't get enough.

Another great addition to the Monogatari US series. Bless Vertical

The is the penultimate book in the Monogatari series second season. In it, we get to see some of what Araragi was up to while absent from the events of Nekomonogatari black in one of Nisioisin's most heart-wrenching stories to date.The story picks up right where Kabukimonogatari leaves off. After going through some time-travel shenanigans, Araragi is hanging out with Mayoi and planning what he's going to tell his girlfriend about missing the first day back to school. But that gets interrupted when the duo are attacked by a....thing. What appears to be a formless 'Darkness' comes after the heroes, destroying anything it touches, and the two barely escape with their lives. And as it turns out, Shinobu has had some experience with the phenomenon before.Almost half of Onimonogatari is taken up by Kisshot's description of her past escapades in Japan. It's a fairly interesting story on it's own, but I can't help but feel it took away from Mayoi's screentime a bit. Or maybe I'm just spoiled by all her scenes from Nise. Oh well.On the whole, this was a decent read, but I still feel that Nisio is putting too much meta humor and sex jokes into the books where Araragi is the narrator. The original Bake novels had a much better balance.Oh well, only one more to go.

A sad Goodbye to one of our favorite characters and a look back to the past.

Just two words.NisioIsin and Monogatari series. That should tell you about the greatness of this book. Vertical(Ko Ransom) did a great job of translating and publising this book despite of the deep world play by NisioIsin

Continúa la historia de Koyomi Araragi, con la excelente calidad narrativa que Nisioisin-Sensei nos tiene mal acostumbrados. Es un libro muy bonito, con una portada bastante llamativa, y el arte interno es maravilloso.No hay más que agregar sobre lo perfecto que es Onimonogatari.Cómo un comentario aparte, Amazon sigue enviando sus libros únicamente en sobre de burbujas, lo que provoca que se dañen no sólo por golpes sino también por arañazos o piquetes.Mi recomendación es que se adquieran más de tres libros para que el empaquetado sea en cartón y tenga mayor protección.

Looking into Shinobu's somber past is great detail was quite fascinating. As usual, Nisiosin delivers depth to his characters whilst also telling a great story
