Thumpification!
With whatever kick drum head dialed in-- coupled with this low boy?? Yes, indeed. As Rob Brown says, Maximum Thumpification! My 18" kick sounded like a cannon- like a 22". Highly suggest using a falam patch- the point on the beater will leave some nice dents if you lay into the pedal/play higher volume. Actually, the flat side does, as well. The wood produces a unique tone w open tuning (I use Aquarian SKII) -- glad I picked up this beater. Always wanted to try one of these out. Glad I did. Alejandro.

Better sound
This thing costs more but my kick sounds better and it feels better when I thump it.

Nice but bulky and slow
They are nice for hard thumps but they feel bulky and have had them hit my foot on the rebound. They are also slower and harder to play fast double or triple hits so I ended cuting the rear “cone” shaped end off the groove making it like the light weight low boy beater. Now I can play faster but do to my mesh head being bouncy I get quite a bit of unintended bass flams that I don’t like so I run them shorter. Now they feel fine and play well. I have adjusted the spring tension to allow a two finger gap between the mesh head and beater head with my foot resting on the pedals. I am using these on the iron cobra 600 dbl pedal used on an E kit.

All hype
Seen several creators boosting these, it’s all hype. Due to the flat head style design on most pedals the upper most edge of the beater is all that makes contact with the bass drum head. This causes premature wear on the head. You will notice a lot of companies that use the flat head style have a pivoting head so that the beater makes full face contact with the head, this beater does not include that. For the price and poor design I would recommend literally anything else.

Great but the rod is slightly larger than standard diameter
Doesn't fit into 2 of my 3 or pedals.

Works well but they are expensive for what you are getting. Essentially a turned piece of wood attached to a metal rod.
