Seltzer Boy, when are you coming?
Like Allan Sherman, I am a fan of seltzer. This works very well. Very fizzy for days, unlike open bottles. Strong stream. Love to use it to make egg creams (with U-bet chocolate syrup!) as I enjoyed when a boy in Brooklyn.

Flow tube/gasket are junk
Same experience as another reviewer. Worked great the first couple times of use. Then the tube would blow out of the gasket, which caused all the C02 to just blow out the valve instead of soda water coming out. Thought about pinning the tube to the gasket with a needle or something to keep it place but decided just to return. These things are an absurdly simple design. Too bad they can’t proved a better quality connection for the tube and gasket.

Decent Sparkling Water Maker — Works, But Has Leakage Issues
**⭐️⭐️⭐ Decent Sparkling Water Maker — Works, But Has Leakage Issues** The 1L aluminum sparkling water maker does a decent job carbonating water, and it looks nice on the counter. It’s simple to use and the bottle capacity is good for single servings. When it works, the carbonation level is solid and the water tastes great. Unfortunately, I’ve had some issues with it leaking during use, which makes the process a bit messy and wastes CO₂ cartridges. It still functions, but the leakage takes away from the convenience I was hoping for. Overall, an okay option for occasional use — just be aware of the potential leaking problem.

Kills bug larvae in dry food containers by adding CO2
My oatmeal, rice and other dry grain foods actually arrive with bug eggs or larvae in them. After storing them in airtight glass containers, they are full of bugs that hatch out in there. I got this soda maker and add a straw to the nozzle so I can inject CO2 gas into the container. I don't use water or make soda with it. You can screw the cartridge in, releasing the CO2, then use the dispensing valve when you want to blow the gas into your food container. The eggs and larvae die before emerging as bugs to eat your food and become much bigger in there.

Wasteful packaging
The item was fine, but packaging was wasteful

It...uh...exploded.
I was super excited to take this camping. I had used it a few times at home after purchasing it and had been very pleased except for a little dribbling after each use. I was showing it off to my family on a picnic table and apparently crossthreaded the plastic top portion on the aluminum cannister making an incomplete and unstable seal. When I installed the standard 8 gram CO2 cartridge and slowly twisted to puncture as instructed, the top blew off, soaking us in water and landing several feet from the table. The plastic dip tube had broken off. We later found that about 40 feet away. Thankfully the only injuries were a sore left index finger that got bent backwards in the process, now completely recovered, and my pride, which has yet to recover. I am so thankful no one was really hurt; it could have gone much worse. Please be super careful if you use this or other pressurized systems.

space saving
Works well. Takes up much less space than having cans or bottles of soda. I use it almost daily. Found that it works best to measure 1 liter of water, then pour it into the soda maker with the measuring tube removed. Otherwise it won't take a full liter of water. Then place the tube and top with the dispensing straw attached. Also found that tuning the charger cap slowly to gently add the co2 to the water works better than turning it quickly.

It leaks
It makes a delicious seltzer but it leakslike crazy and leaves a puddle wherever it sits, leaving a mess.
