Care Science Silicone Scar Tape 1.6 x 120in 1ct | Scar Tape for reducing the appearance of scars

I have an old scar on my knee that I plan to test using scar tape. My friend used this tape on her scar recently left from knee replacement surgery and it seemed to help the appearance of the scar to what it would have been had she not used it. But she did apply immediately after getting stitches removed and internal stitches were healed. On the other hand, my scar is decades old and I do not believe that using the tape now will make any difference. In addition I have old stretch marks under my arms that I will use this tape on. I ordered a roll of 1.6 x 120in inch (almost 10 feet) roll of Silicone Scar Tape for Reducing the Appearance of Scars, from the Care Science store. The tape is soft, medical grade siicone, washable and reusable for multiple applications. The adhesive is medical grade for skin and it works well even after washing the strips with soap and water and reusing them. I cut a six inch piece and put on my old scar, making sure I applied it to clean, dry skin. It was comfortable enoughto wear for a week. So far no change in an old scar or old stretch marks. Another use that I have found is to cut a strip for my nose so that the bridge of my prescription glasses do not cut into the delicate, aging skin on my nose. I have worn glasses for 60 years and I have scar tissue built up on the bridge of my nose so this tape has helped maintain skin moisture and possibly improved skin health. The tape is gentle on the skin, is easy to remove and doesn't damage and red leave marks like a bandaid or medical tape. None-the-less, the tape keeps my glasses in place when I play sports and sweat and keeps my from having to move them around on my nose. This is high-quality, medical-grade scar tape and it did work well to help a new fresh scar to heal less noticable than it would have been without the tape. However this is no miracle tape and will not work on old scars, in my experience. I do like using this tape and rate this roll of scar tape from Care Science as 5 star for easy removal and a variety of usefulness.

I am a RN with 10 years in the OR and 3 Years working for a Plastic Surgeon, so I am familiar with silicone scar tape and gels. They work by retaining moisture which enables the scar to more effectively heal. What I like about this scar tape is that it is easy to work with. It does NOT roll over onto itself when removing from the backing as long as you remove it at a slow even pace.For small scars, you can easily cut this to fit the wound/scar (Do Not Use until wound is completely healed). I recently had an upper Blepharoplasty and that is what I have done. It sticks very well. I cut the tape just wide enough to cover the scar and a little overlapping the edges. The fact it stays on while blinking is impressive and you can barely fell it. That it is still comfortable to wear on my eyelids, of all places. is very impressive. It's more common for people to use gels on the face. But I wanted to test this on my eyes. It is working just as expected from a scar tape. I'm noticing the softening at this point (too early for anything else) and I'm very happy with how well this is working so far. Please follow all manufacturers directions as well as your doctors' directions always.

I have tried a couple of other types of scar sheets and tape over the past few weeks after a surgery on my face that runs from near my eye to just a bit under my jawline. I have a very large incision that will take almost a year to fully heal up, and my surgeon suggested trying a scar sheet or scar tape. I decided to give this a try.I really like the adhesion that I get with it. It stayed put the entire day and I didn't have to worry about it moving around. The really nice part is that I could cut it to the correct length, which is great since my scar is so long that it requires two sheets that are difficult to get to stay put.The adhesion was great, but when it was time to remove the tape, it came off wonderfully and left no adhesive behind. I can't speak to how this will impact the appearance of the scar in the future (I don't think there is really a way to know for sure) but it is really great in comparison to the other products I have tried.

I found this because I have a scar (or two!) that I would like to see diminished. I would like to not be reminded of it at all but there it is. This is so easy, why haven't I known this before? I can put this on and leave it for a week! It showers, bathes, rinses right along with me as I move and shake through the day. I can remove it without screaming or tearing my skin. The color does not flash that I am covering up a scar but it does cover my scar.I have only removed it a few times but it has not been painful. I do not see an overnight removal but I have hope and this is an affordable attempt at making me feel less conspicuous. I am not a healthcare provider, just a human being with a bit of vanity and the desire to make a change. I like the feel of this and there is hope, I am giving it 5 stars because it stays on, feels comfortable, and I think it is softening the area.

This silicone scar tape is easy to cut and apply. The tape is thin and sticks well. I’m using it on an old scar. It might take some time to see the effectiveness. So far, no skin irritation.

I have been using scar tape continuously for a few months now due to surgery. While using it for that purpose, I've learned that silicone tape is also great for wrinkle reduction while you sleep, so I also go to bed with three pieces, one under each eye and one on the forehead. It really helps keep the wrinkles from becoming worse overnight and holds moisture in. This scar tape by Care Science is thicker and softer than some. It is not perforated, like many, nor does it tear easily, so you will need scissors. This tape is thick and soft.
