Not built for comfort!
I own two pairs of Irish Setter Ashby work boots and they are quite comfortable right out of the box. These boots(Fifty) were never designed to be anything but attractive on the exterior. The inside of the counter(back of heel) has an exposed edge of stiff leather that will never break in to be comfortable. Really flawed design. The rest of the boot isn't particularly comfortable either. Wish I could send them back.

Very well made, comfortable
I ordered these boots for my son to wear while helping around the yard. He is thrilled with these boots! I tried them on and used them for a while, too. While they are a little large for me, I was surprised by how comfortable and easy to wear they are.QUALITYThe boots are very well made. The leather upper is firmly attached to the rubber sole. The leather is very durable and a great quality. The rubber sole is quite thick. It provides comfort to the arch and is also comfortable to walk on - especially on rocky and rough terrain. Since the sole is thicker than most boots we have, it takes a minute to get used to, but it really is nice. The rubber sole also flexes well, which makes the boots even more versatile.SIZEThe boots are true-to-size and fit like a glove. There is no pinching or rubbing on the inside. The boots are also easy to get on and off, and lace up easily.COMFORTThe boots are really very comfortable. They are lightweight, so you don't feel like you're lugging around bricks all day on your feet.Other boots we've tried need to be worn for a while before they are broken in and comfortable. That is not the case with these boots - instead, they just feel comfortable immediately. I like that.VERSATILEThese boots are not only good for working around the yard, they also make very comfortable and stylish everyday wear boots. My son has been wearing the boots to work where he is on his feet all day. He likes these boots so much better than other brands we've tried.Overall, we are really very happy with the excellent quality and comfort of these boots. I highly recommend them!

Typically my husband prefers tall boots, but he wanted to try short ones. These are comfortable and have worn well. They are also lightweight and easy to put on/take off.

Great casual wear
A nice effort from a brand that's been around for quite a while. Red Wing Shoe Co. owns the Irish Setter brand and historically they have mostly made boots designed for American upland game hunters. I suggest there are many more American mall shoppers than game hunters these days and these Setter Fifties boots seems like the brand's bend toward that more casual mall walking boot wearing type of guy. I don't think I would ask these boots to slog through mud and muck, mostly because they just aren't that heavy duty. They are constructed ok, fit good and they are very comfortable right out of the box, but I feel like they are more at home in a shopping or dining or even an office setting, than out in the field. The soles are wedge design, made from mostly recycled materials and have enough give that the boots still felt comfortable after wearing them for hours on a recent outing. And I like the light tan leather color, which for some reason, they have named mango. Nothing fruity about these boots and I rate them 5 thumbs up stars.

Unbelievable comfort, questionable quality.
I do supply chain consultation and training, I spend a lot of hours standing on concrete floors and usually have to wear something like a Hoka or OnCloud to get the appropriate cushioning to not tear up my knees or back. The problem is, tennis shoes are ugly and not super professional. These boots, on the other hand, look and feel fantastic! Due to the thin flexible leather, and stretch material in the ankle area, these are ready to go out of the box and require almost no break in. The soles are incredibly soft and comfortable, and have a good bounce to them when walking. However, after two days of light duty walking there’s already some stitching come off on the vamp. Super disappointing, well what navigating the exchange process with Amazon looks like…
