Anything Goes 1989 London Cast

This is a great recording. My only comment or criticism is it could’ve been a tad bit louder.

A perky rendition of this famous score (with enough interpolated Cole Porter songs to make it almost a 'biggest hits' disc) from the London Cast of 1989, it doesn't quite knock the John McGlinn, (historically more accurate) 2 disc version out of first place but it's an excellent single disc attempt at re-creatling the 1930's era. Built around the fine talents of Elaine Paige (who almost convinces me she's American) the very good cast of singers seems to be having a great time. The sound on the disc is full and the musical pacing should have your toes tapping right from the start.

Wonderful, funny and charming - so wish it was filmed on video

This show is timeless, hence the revivals. The music is exceptional and when you think there are at least 7 standards in this one production it has to be good. Anything By Cole Goes as far as I am concerned.The vitality of the West End production is captured here and with principals Elaine Paige, Bernard Cribbins and Howard McGillin not forgetting the late Harry Towb as Elisha Whitney this is really smashing to listen to. The sound quality is brilliant and this makes a perfect addition to any musicals collection.

This CD is amazing,arrived in perfect condition,just perfect.I will be buying again from BigLrecords.....thankyou so much.
