SunlitePL13/SP65K 13-Watt Compact Fluorescent Plug-in 2-Pin Light Bulb, 6500K Color

This bulb works great and is a good value at about 2/3 the price of an original OttLite bulb. I tried two of the OttLite bulbs and both were dead on arrival (see my one-star review for that item). I don't know how long this bulb will last, but at least it lights up! Please note that the light output from this bulb (PL13/SP65K) is VERY white... it has a color temp of 6500K, which is in the blue white range. It may be too white for some, but for me it is perfect for reading or other "task" lighting. This bulb comes in six different color temps, however, so you can pick the color that you like. Definitely recommended.

This is a unique bulb that has a special connector designed for older and low profile fixtures. Make sure you take out the old bulb and compare to make sure it is correct. I think my fixture is from 1991 as thats when this place was built.It is a very bright white 6500k light which helps ensure the clothing I pick out is the color I think it is and I don't get embarrassed when I arrive at work with one blue and one black sock... In case you were wondering why 6500k is the right choice for you. The typical room light is a warm yellow (even the new LEDs) or a blue tinged white (lots of bulbs). In any case i attached a picture so you can see how white it is. Illuminates the closet pretty well for the low power consumption.Side Note: The last bulb did not blow out in a single moment. It began flickering and changing colors like an alarm or bad ballast so I had time to get a replacement.The last one lasted 3.5 years of typical walk in closet use. I'm very happy with the price for the value and quality. I highly recommend this bulb / brand. Lastly the product arrived next day which is what I needed.

So far, so good. Too early to say anything about the longevity, but the color and daylight brightness matches or exceeds the original Ottlight bulbs I used to buy and this one is less than 1/2 Ottlite's old price. Ottlite left us all hanging when they stopped making the original 13W Swirl Style Bulbs for their desk lamps. I will never buy another Ottlite product again! I found this bulb on Amazon, tried it and it works great (so far). Different brand. It's made in China (just like everything else these days and probably the original Ottlite too). Keeping my fingers crossed, but 4 stars for now.

I was thankful to find a well-rated replacement bulb that didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I bought two and promptly put one in the light fixture. It was replacing a Sylvania bulb that has lasted 10 years. The Sylvania had a much warmer color and looked more like an incandescent bulb and this was a much brighter, whiter color. It lit the room well, so I wasn't too concerned about the color. Fast forward 5 months later and the bulb is dead. This means that the Sylvania cost a fraction of what this bulb cost on a daily basis. Maybe others aren't having this problem or maybe they're just writing their reviews as soon as they plug it in with no follow-up comments later on. I will not be purchasing this bulb again and would caution anyone from doing so.

I shopped for a replacement bulb in the neighborhood hardware stores, I could not find the wattage or the brightness at any of the local stores.It took me minutes to find a great selection of these 2 pin fluorescent bulbs on Amazon at a much better price-delivery was within 2 days.

Bulbs fit perfectly and work perfectly then one week later lamps went out bulb still good .

These bulbs will not replace the Ottlite 13W (E) bulbs. Here is the info from their item: "About this itemOnly for OttLite 13W Lamps Purchased After 2008: The OttLite 13-Watt Replacement Tube with Electronic Ballast Type E is designed only for OttLite lamps purchased AFTER 2008. If you purchased your lamp before 2008, you need the older tube with a magnetic ballast (Type A)."

Bright and daylight looking colour for the light, not anemic yellow looking like some others. More expensive than others but you get what you pay for.
