This is a very well-made thermometer. I love that the mercury is dual encased as opposed to single like the very old ones. You don't have to worry about it being crushed or broken between the teeth when the person has a high fever and the teeth are chattering. When you work with other people in other countries, it's perfect because it is Celsius and Fahrenheit. Most people don't realize you have to leave a mercury thermometer in place for 10 minutes in order to get a reading, so they think there's no mercury in it because they are only waiting three minutes. Which is sad because this is the best thermometer I've ever bought and it comes with two in the package. I highly recommend this to everyone.

Compré este termómetro de vidrio porque en mi familia siempre hemos confiado en este tipo de modelo. Es muy preciso, fácil de limpiar y no necesita baterías. Resiste bien el uso constante y llega bien protegido en su estuche individual. Perfecto para tener en casa o enviar a un ser querido que necesite un termómetro clásico y confiable.

1st, it's not as described: it's not digital & no lithium battery. Given the images, i suspected it wasn't. I have digital & they're not always consistent so we wanted this type too. Each is pkg separately in a clear case but 1 case came broken possibly from a return given the other one was marked twice in a wax like black at 98.6 & higher. Didn't want to have to return so disinfected & tried it. After Over 10min it moved & finally marked a logical read. But it's been a days & the line won't go back down. We shook it: nothing. So I thought just leave it, it's cool in here. Left it vertical & out the box in a 68-70° room but it Still shows the original read. Someone else tried shaking it down several times since, nothing, it hasnt moved. It's ineffective. I consider this a waste of money & time. I regret buying it.

These thermometers are the real deal. They function well, and a great feature are those carrying cases. This is an obvious benefit for thermometers like these. For me they are easy to use, however it is possible le that there could be a learning curve if a person wasn’t raised reading one of these things. As I said the case is imperative, so I would not call them durable. Keep the case close by. This kind of thermometer is fantastic for reading body temperature under the arm.
