When I saw this sequel to Bioshock, I got excited. How were they going to up the ante? How much better would the rendering and animation be in a game released two years after the original? The answer is a reasonable one, but disappointing.Pro:+ Consistent with the original Bioshock, and indeed takes place in the same underwater habitat. The atmosphere is amazing, the art and voice acting are both superb+ You can wield plasmids and normal weapons at the same time, an improvement over the original game mechanics+ It's fun playing big daddy for a change, and there's a few new creatures+ The addition of multiplayer is a plus!+ The story is interesting and engaging+ The graphics are acceptable for an AAA title of this generation+ It retains most of the plusses of the original: relatively smooth gameplay, good hints to help you along when needed, etc.Con:- I wanted more new features, not just refinements! This really does feel like more of the same. It's GOOD more of the same, but not great.- The rendering engine and animation quality feel a bit dated, more than I expected for a 2010 release on the 360.- The multiplayer is a bit rough. After saturating myself in  Call of Duty: Black Ops , this pales in comparison in every way. Perhaps that's to be expected, though.Is it worth buying and playing BioShock 2? As long as you get a good deal on it - say half the price of a new title or less, then sure. Expect a good game with more of the same atmosphere, but not a GREAT game.

Anyway, this time, you play the role of the first Big Daddy, whose origins are slowly revealed throughout the game and who was also important in the conception of the Little sisters protectors. Not only that, you also have to deal with you own little sister's mother, who is not too happy to see that you are still alive. Through the game, you will meet old characters from the first game like Mrs. Tenenbaum, though for a very short time since she has to help other characters, whose adventures are DLC (downloadable content) through your XBoX 360.All the locations in Bioshock 2 are new environments that have never been explored in the first game, so you're in for a treat with the locations' visuals. The game's atmosphere is still as scary as ever, especially as you haev to deal with a new kind of sister, a more dangerous one.Finally, it would be important to know that your character's actions will have more of an impact in your ending than in the first one. So be careful if you want to play a good ending, or a neutral one, or a bad ending.By the way, I have read on the internet, and I do not know if this is true or not, that Sheryl Lee, who played Laura Palmer in Twin Peaks, did some voices for a splicer who, around a fire, talks about Jack's fate. If it is true, then I wished they could have given her more roles in the game.

"Bioshock 2" is certainly a worthy follow-up to the original version. The story remains similar, but interesting nonetheless. This game has the ability to hold my attention for hours. I find it challenging, yet not so hard that it is impossible to clear the levels. The game continues to be rather eerie, made all the more so with the enemies jumping out from unexpected places, the old-fashioned music, and the background.My only complaint would be that the graphics are a little basic compared to the outstanding ones that I've seen in recently released games.Overall, a fun, challenging, exciting game, well worth adding to your collection.
