Sashco 46090 10.5 oz. Conceal Textured Wood Caulk, Grizzly Brown

I’m a professional painter and this product is AMAZING. I used it in my own house on a herringbone inlay I made while building my wooden countertops. There were gaps here and there in the inlay (I’m a painter, not a carpenter, what can I say?) and this product not only filled the gaps, but the texture made it impossible to see. The problem with regular caulk that happens to be a wood color (like dark walnut) isn’t the color, it’s the SHEEN—that’s what makes it stand out so much, I’ve seen it (literally) 100 times when ppl try to fill gaps in natural wood. The sheen from the caulk, plus the smoothness compared to wood, draws the eye. This product is different though—the sheen is perfect and the texture keeps it from drawing the eye. Wood has texture, no matter how smooth you sand it, so if you need to caulk gaps then you HAVE to use something with similar texture (unless you’re painting it of course). So, in my professional opinion, and based on my own use of the product, it’s amazing. And I saw one review saying “you won’t know what color you’re getting”—that’s not exactly true. I ordered Grizzly Brown, which matched my Dark Walnut stained counters perfectly. THEIR version of dark walnut may not match MINWAX dark walnut, but that doesn’t mean you won’t know what color you get, you may just need to eyeball it to get as close as you can. If it’s still not a perfect match for the stain you used, then stain over the caulk-it’s not that big of a deal (yes it WILL work), but don’t say it’s the company’s fault that they can’t match whatever brand of stain you used, that’s crazy. Covers well, easy to use with a putty knife. Used it to fill in 1/4 inch & smaller cracks in my wood porch railings. Faces south with no overhang so exposed to sun & weather year around. If it weathers as well as it applied, I'll be very pleased.

We got this to fill some chips in our wood floor. It dries dark, settles into the cracks, and when dried looks NOTHING like the wood. This is more of an inbetween slat sealant than a wood repair gel, in my opinion

This is, by far, the best caulk I have ever used. It is easy to apply and not as sticky as other caulk. It was easy to smooth and (so far) has retained its elasticity so it's still flexible and moving as the logs expand and contract. I started off ordering a few tubes to see how I liked it, and ended up buying a dozen more. Absolutely worth the money.

I was duped by the erroneous color swatches on the site. If you look at all honey, wheat, brown colors, the swatches are identical. I don't know about the quality of the caulking. I didn't use it because when I saw the color, it wouldn't work.

Love this!!! Great to fill in wide cracks on an old wood floor -- before staining & varnishing. Makes it look like a new floor.
