Comgrow vs AmazonBasics
The media could not be loaded. Before getting to the Comgrow filament review, I would like to point out that while filament quality do affect the quality of your prints, filament quality can only be assessed if the following has been done:1) Your printer has been properly assembled (i.e., all parts aligned, leveled, no hardware issues, etc.) and2) Your slicer settings are optimized for the filament you are usingI believe that if the 2 criteria listed above are achieved, most filaments will yield adequate print results, however, some will provide better quality than others. In this review, I will be comparing my observations of this Comgrow filament (tested white, black and blue) vs AmazonBasic’s regular PLA filaments (tried black, white, gray, blue, and red). Key differences are noted below.ComgrowAdvertised accuracy: 0.02 mmAdvertised temp: 180-210 CTexture: smooth filamentSpool: consistently wound, layeredPackaging: vacuum sealed w/ desiccantFinish: shinier/glossier than AmazonBasic’s filamentsOdor: nonePrinting: machine sounds smooth, effortless printing (subjective observation), more under extrusion observed vs over extrusion (fixable with splicer settings)Pros: price point is reasonable ($17.99 at the time of this review), prints really well, no residue on the retractor/filament feeder/extruderCons: few color selection (currently only black and white… I was able to order the blue when it first came out)AmazonBasic’sAdvertised accuracy: 0.05 mmAdvertised temp: 190-220 CTexture: textured/grainy filament to the touchSpool: not as nicely wound/layered like Comgrow’sPackaging: vacuum sealed w/ desiccantFinish: not shiny or glossy, more like a chalky finishOdor: nonePrinting: machine sounds like it’s working harder to print, more issues with over extrusion than under extrusion (which can be fixed with slicer settings)Pros: price point is very good for bulk orders (3-pack and 5-packs have averaged me at $10-13 a spool)Cons: so far, print quality is just okay. It’s not bad, but nothing I was in awe about (subjective). Noticeable residue on extruder (see images)CONCLUSION: when slicer settings are optimized, the Comgrow filaments provide very good prints (better that AmazonBasics in my opinion)Comments regarding photos:1. Everything in the pictures were printed with Comgrow’s filaments, except the Julius Caesar on the RIGHT2. The black dog was the first thing I printed after setting up my Ender 3 (no optimizing whatsoever)3. The residue on the extruder is from AmazonBasic's white filament4. I accidentally broke Monkey D. Luffy’s leg while removing the supports :(

Great filament for Lithophanes, and everything else.
This filament has excellent adhesion, prints beautifully on my ender 3, come tightly spooled, was within the diaameter tolerances listed everywhere I spot checked it with my micrometer. I've tried some other low priced filaments and gotten poor quality filament that clogged in my capricorn bowdens tubing due to out of spec diameters and messed up long prints, or whose spool winding is sub par causing my extruder to stop extruding because the filament is hung. This filament is good quality and reliable, alwaying giving me excellent prints - especially on lithophanes where the slightest imperfection is painfully obvious - and I will continue to buy this filament because it is better quality than many of the higher priced filaments by better known names.

Non functional
Great idea - very poor design/material quality. The idea here is great, it just doesn't work. The tension on the feed is way too much to overcome, so the feed of the filament is impeded. This is basically a very expensive way to store your filament. We bought two. Neither works.

Works well, just wound a bit tight
Filament works well in Ender 3 Pro on standard PLA setting. However, the feed isn't always strong enough to overcome the edge tension in the spool. Had 2 bad prints, but learned quickly to release the spool tension every 30 minutes to prevent issues.

My first filament, excellent results on Ender 3 Pro
This is my go-to filament and it produces fantastic prints on a well-calibrated Ender 3 Pro at 0.2mm layer height at 200°C/50°C on both the stock magnetic bed and an upgraded glass bed.I've already got a second spool of black and a spool of gray, the gray I have not yet used. But so far, with proper and repeated calibration checks, consistent results with this PLA have made me a loyal customer, especially after going through the reviews on other brands, including some of the more pupular "trusted" brands, and reading of inconsistencies and adhesion issues. While there are other brands out there that are a couple dollars cheaper, I know what I'm getting and what to expect with Comgrow filament, which gives some peace of mind while waiting hours or days for complex prints to complete.

Dont think twice and stock up, this is the filament you've been looking for period.
WoW I never new this kind of incredible winding of the filament was a real thing. To my surprise it's actually Creality filament that's one of my favourite colors. The predictability of the filament is spectacular everytime I have gotten excellent layer adhiesion with a nice clean finish. Why oh why didn't I order more at that crazy low price when the discount was on.

Great prints!
I get great prints from this filament every time! Sticks to the Edner 3 magnetic bed perfect every time and I have some minor warping with my bed and and I have never had a issue.Worth the price.I have had issues with some rafts being a tint bit troublesome but I'll take that over having a print at 95% break loose or become warped off the bed causing the print to shift! Which I have had with the cheaper China filaments. With this filament I get a perfect print every time.

All it did was jam my printer
I also had the problems with it getting too stringy and loosing adhesion...right before it just quit altogether. Changing the temperatures (nozzle and plate) did not help. It might be because it's REAL humid where I live, but this is the first spool I've ever had that I couldn't get through 25% of it. I won't be purchasing again.
