I went looking for a stainless steel dough hook after mine had the paint start flaking off, after several years of use. First impression, this thing is heavy. I don't expect it to bend or break. It fit my model perfectly, and clears the bowl just fine, no scraping or hitting. I like the stainless as it's a lot easier to clean up, especially after dealing with a really sticky dough. I fully expect this to last me for years to come.

The paddle is slightly bigger than the original coated paddle that came with my mixer in 1989. I did not want anotehr one with the vinyl, as the peeling concerns me. This item fits the blender and while it is a little louder when it scrapes against the metal bowl, it is not scratching the bowl to indicate it is an incorrect fit. Cleaning is easy with quick hand-wash. I feel this item will last me another 25+ years IF the blender can keep up. I have the original Kitchenaid model, not professional.

good replacement of this stainless steel accessory. The OEM ceramic coated one was peeling into the mixture.

Ordered to replace original beater in my kitchen aid mixer when paint started chipping off it. This beater is heavy and well made, but like some reviewers mentioned it does lightly hit sides of bowl. I guess just a tad too big, but mixes and has not caused any problems.

Despite looking up the model of my kitchen aid, and verifying the size of my bowl, this does NOT fit the Kitchen Aid Classic. While you can attach it, it bumps the bowl when it goes around. Not matter how you adjust it, it still bumps the bowl, and although you can reduce the bumping, then it doesn't get nearly close enough to the bottom of the bowl. It is the wrong size or shape. The heft of the paddle is nice, but irrelevant if it doesn't fit.

Best fit I have found after trying a few others; I haven't used it yet, but will update if the enamel doesn't hold up!
