A wonderful home video of a couple living on their boat.
I've loved this movie for over 20 years when I was also living on a boat. I only had the VHS copy, which began to fade over time. I was so happy they remade it on DVD. I'm sad that the husband had passed away and this remake was dedicated to him. It's a great video if you want to know what it's like to live on a boat and travel around the world. It's easy to watch, includes humor and music and basically shows you the cruising life. I recommend it.

A true sailing adventurer
I met Gene while sailing our own boat in Mexico. Gene was a Hollywood cameraman who decided to take off on an adventure and film the whole trip. We were anchored near him in Mexico and were invited to view the film on his boat. When he made the film he did not have the modern equipment of todays cruisers. His boat was a bare bones but capable little cruiser. Gene is the most likable and friendly guys I met while cruising Mexico. Unfortunately he acquired a debilitating illness that effected his legs that made walking difficult and painful. In the the water though he found grace and freedom when snorkeling in Mexicos many beautiful anchorages. It has been many years since last we spoke and I hope he is still sailing and enjoying the cruising life. If you are Fortunate to find a copy of 600 days to Cocos Island I am sure you will be envious of the simple, though demanding, life of adventurous cruisers of that era. I can do no less than give Gene 5 stars.
