My First Raspberry Pi Project - The Kit is Inexpensive, Functional, Well Documented and A Lot of fun to Build
This is a small, inexpensive kit for adding an IR motion detector to a Raspberry Pi computer. The kit includes the IR sensor and the necessary connectors to attach the sensor to the Pi's GPIO pins. It also includes a hole drilling template, nylon mounting hardware and a drill bit. The real gems of this kit are the step-by-step installation instructions and sample shell scripts provided on the included DVD. In my opinion the instructions are worth the price of the kit. They take you through the installation and testing of the IR sensor and provide script examples for IR motion detection, Pi Camera (not provided in the kit) operation and integration of both of these with G-Mail for the mailing of IR activations complete with photo attachments. I found the kit easy to use, very educational and a lot of fun to play with.
