I bought this to monitor my cats' weight (one is thin and one is fat). It works well and is less expensive than buying a "cat" scales. If the cat (or, I suppose, a baby) moves around it is a bit sensitive; however, that is to be expected. I recommend it for all cat owners to monitor their cat's weight.
