The h2go is a great for backpacking. Its very light in weight, but not in ability. I have used it to purify water and also to make hand sanitizer. It does not filter dirt out of water. It uses electrolisis to create liquid chlorine. When liquid chlorine is put in water in the premeasured quantity, it kills all microbal pest. So select water from a clear running brook, treat it and your good to go.

This is an awesome piece of kit to have whenever you are in the field or overseas in areas where drinking water is questionable. The unit is designed to disinfect water and replaces expensive chlorine or iodine tablets used to disinfect water. It is very simple and relatively quick to use and can be adjusted to treat various amounts of water. Unlike the aforementioned tablets which have a shelf life, you mix the amount of disinfectant as needed. After I process my water through a purification filter, I add the disinfectant drops from the H2GO as my final step in the water purification process. I am impressed by the size of the unit, and wish I had something like this 40 years ago as a young Special Forces Soldier.

Love the sustainability and that there is a built-in salt reservoir. Just a pinch of salt and a few drops of water, and in just a couple of seconds, you have a bleach-like solution!

The kit comes in a mesh bag that fits beautifully inside a grail cup. Its important to have in order procure clean water for yourself and others. Don't wait until you need it.

Bought one from them a long time ago before they were on amazon, still works great! So good that I am giving it 5 stars wherever I can. Clear instructions make it easy to use, and for its money this thing is far more than worth it
