Purchased this exclusively for use at home with a Bluetooth speaker connected via aux cable, so I can't comment on how quickly it eats through batteries or its sturdiness. I keep it plugged in via the included power cable and "parked" on a stable surface. Very easy to use, all of the buttons are pretty self-explanatory. Is slightly larger in diameter than a CD and about an inch thick. Will play discs with minor scuffs and scratches just fine, but I tested a CD with a few deeper marks and it skipped severely. It didn't stop, though, evidently determined to play the disc through to the end. The EQ options (bass boost, pop, jazz, and rock) seem to work best with older CDs. I have several CDs issued in the 80s and 90s that sound far better with an EQ enabled, but I've found that trying to use any EQ dampens and muffles the sound quality of mid-2000s or later CDs. I don't think this is a fault with the CD player by any means - just a heads-up for those who may also have a collection of older and newer discs. A solid option if you're looking for a decent discman on a budget.

A piece of junk. It doesn't work!

If you're looking for something portable and economical to play CDs from start to finish this player works fine. Plays all my purchased CD's and CD-Rs. Works off batteries or AC but you will need the plug. As for functionality, it does not do shuffle playback. A sound equalizer is provided instead of separate treble and bass controls, but the bass boost option distorts the overall sound quality. The slow-motion playback feature is useless. Serves my purposes well but is not as functional as the old Sony CD Walkman was.

My new van has no CD player so I bought this. It works just fine. But here’s the problem. I thought my van had some sort of electronic problem because I was getting a loud hum and then discovered that this CD player puts out a constant hum when connected. When I reported this, the company contacted me right away. I sent them a recording. They tested one in a vehicle and had no problem. I plugged it into my entertainment system in my house today and the noise problem is in my van. They were right. I had given it 3 stars because of the noise. I promised them that if I found it wasn't the fault of the CD player, I would give it 5 stars because I otherwise like it! The sound quality is good and it is simple and easy to operate. New cars don't have CD players. I have dozens of CDs with my favorite music on them. Thanks to this little gem, I can now listen to the music I like in my van. No commercials, nobody dictating what I'm allowed to listen to.

This is a pretty good little CD player, especially for the price. I didn't use it in my car, but at home with a set of $10 Wal Mart headphones. Even with cheap headphones, I thought the sound was very good. I shook it around, tapped on it, and a few other things & couldn't get it to skip, so the anti shock seems to work fine. All of the buttons work fine, and the "POWER" button also works as the "STOP" button. I love the "HOLD ON / OFF" switch on the bottom. With the HOLD button in the ON position, the buttons on the top of the player won't work. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally pressed a button on other players & messing things up. How frustrating! I also love the beefy OPEN switch, you have to push on it a little harder. I've also accidentally opened a player by it rubbing up against clothing or a bag sitting next to it in the car. Aggravating! Don't have to worry about it with this player. I would have no problem recommending this product to someone looking for a good, low priced CD player. I give it 5 stars.

This CD player is both compact and travels well. Most importanly it delivers a full and rich sound. Your CDs will sound as good as you remember. I have been able to use the battery for over 4 hours without issue. The controls are simple and very intuitive. The CD players works well in a car and does not skip on the paved roads or highway. The customer service is outstanding and they even followed up to make sure the CD player arrived without issue.

Very cheaply made. I doubt it will stay together long. Pay a little more and get a good one.
