Pricey but worth it.
Pretty expensive but the flavor for under sink reverse osmosis system is good.

They work well but are way too expensive
After having come from a RO water filter system years ago, I made the switch to one of these twist and lock systems. These filters are WAY OVERPRICED but they are quick and easy to install and I feel comfortable knowing I am making some sort of effort to protect my family drinking water. The green ones and yellow ones are interchangeable but the green ones filter out (according to the label) more stuff. I found that the green ones don't last long and you've got a dribble coming out of the water tap after only a month. The yellow ones go strong for about 3-4 months in my house and we use a lot of drinking water. These are getting a little harder to find. I equate this whole water filtration industry to that of the inkjet printer industry. The initial system isn't too expensive but they hit you hard for new filters and eventually discontinue them so you have to buy a new system.

GE has me by the ...
I am torn. I like this filter system. Water tastes good, spout is not leaky, works and looks good. Change is easy and even the price is acceptable. The problem I have with GE system is GE selling 2 filters, calling it dual system when only the first may be doing most of the work. At the end of 6 months, I may be throwing away the second filter that may have months of life left.Checking the 2 filters that come as a set, they are identical. Each filter must stand alone in filtration capability, otherwise even 2 filters are not catching the percentage GE claims. That is, suppose each filter catches 60%. The first catches 60%, then second is catching 60% of the 40%. GE claim is above 95% average for listed organics and chemicals. If first catches 95%, then what is the second doing? This is the kind of by-the-scruff-of-neck selling tactic that makes me feel cheated, resentful and start looking for another product. GE even has single filter body. I may throw away the 2 stage body and buy the single stage body. It should save money in the long run.I just hate having discovered filtered water, and the kids, school, and the society in general demanding filtered water.

Good product but the availability of these filters is sparse
We put in an undersink filter several years ago and used these filters in them. These filters are no longer available from Home Depot (where we bought them) and do cost more than Home Depot (basically the shipping cost). The water coming out is fine to drink in my estimation but our son doesn't like it so we have another solution for him that fixes the taste as well. It seems that the local hardware stores only carry supplies for a few years and then move onto the next model. I was hoping that the one that we had installed would last 15 or 20 years but that's going to depend on the availability of these filters. We looked around for filters that would be compatible with our system and didn't find anything out there.

Great Quality, Convenient
This filter is great, and even better is that Amazon is one of the only places that you can purchase these filters. I would say that the filters are comparable to Brita, but not a great as PUR filters in my honest opinion.I installed a separate water filter in my parents sink so that it is easy to fill up a glass of water from the faucet without having to use a separate water that you have to fill up. They really enjoy the convenience and the water tastes great! It is especially good since they are senior citizens and don't need to lift a heavy water jug. Its a win-win.Only negative: if the filters are discontinued, then installing the faucet will have been a waste

Works for GXRLQR so far!
Bought these for my smart water system to replace the GXRLQR filters that seem just about impossible to find (for a good price). The form factor is exactly the same. However, if you look at the top of the filter, you'll notice that the inlet hole is much larger on the FQSLF filter than with the GXRLQR filter. This initially caused some problems with my filtration system. The hoses started to rattle and the water jetted out of the spout, only to become aerated, then dwindle down. I closed off the cutoff valve for the filter, undid the filter, then re-engaged it. Next I opened up the spigot and slowly opened the cut-off valve. I stopped when I got sufficient flow though the spigot. So far, it seems to be working well. If it continues to perform as such, I just found a cheaper replacement for my filters!

Economical Way To Get Great Tasing Water
I use these filters as a simple tap water filtration system. Living in San Francisco, our water is very good. However using the filter does make the water taste better as it does remove particulates and chemical odors. The flow of the filter gets less over time due to the screening of the particulates. (You can see the "mud" run out when you change and drain the old filer). You can do the taste and smell test: filtered vs. tap water and note the differences. Our filter is changed every 5 to 6 months. With the two pack, this will last us almost a year. I don't know the number of gallons it will filter since this has never been measured. I know that this is much more economical than buying gallons of water from the store. This is a good and simple solution to making the tap water taste better.

I am very satisfied with the ease of this GE filter system
After seeing other styles, mostly awkward canister styles requiring a towel or bowel for filter changes, I am very satisfied with the ease of this GE filter system.Delivers clean, pleasant tasting water without fuss.

Poor Quality replacement model FQK2J.
The replacement model FQK2J delivered to us was not of same quality as the GE FQSLF. The water leaked heavily when I installed one of the cartridges and had to shut down the main water valve. Faulty Rubber O-ring is the culprit.Never had any issues with the GE FQSLF before, why did GE/Amazon replaced it?

Costly.
Wish GE did not replace this, as the newer model is bigger, bulkier, and heavier.Harder to install.
