Ottolenghi Comfort [Alternate Cover Edition]: A Cookbook

I love all his cookbooks. Love the cover on this one and I plan to make a lot of these recipes. I recommend.

I love every Ottolenghi cookbook, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the journey through this new one. But some of the American versions of Ottolenghi cookbooks have had really boring covers. So I was really happy to get this American version (with American units of measurement), with the lovely European cover! Best of both worlds. I hope his future books will offer the same option.

I bought this to have new stuff to make for dinner. It has some recipes I have tried and the food is good but everything to make a meal takes a lot of preparation. Many of the ingredients are hard to find at least for me. There were no substitute options for things you don't have and can't find. The recipes I choose to make were longer prep times and cook times. I do like the book and will use it as time allows.

Recipes are easy to follow and so delicious.

Having cooked a few recipes so far. I would say I’m at a 60/40 ratio of repeatable recipes. 1 of the non repeatable recipes was the Japanese sando. Not only did it not feel like an ottolenghi recipe… it was just a complete waste of ingredients for lackluster results. One of my favorite recipes was the tomato/eggplant/red pepper soup .. which was simple and the sun was greater than its parts.. which is what I expect from an ottolenghi book Compared to other Ottolenghi books, this one doesn’t quite measure up. Too many lackluster recipes. And probably 25% or more don’t feel like Ottolenghi recipes at all .. I feel like this book was more akin to an OTK book that leans more into its co authors (this time there are 3 co authors) resulting in many recipes that just don’t feel like an Ottolenghi recipe. Compared to other cookbooks it’s very good , but compared to all the other Ottolenghi books (and OTK books) .. I’d rank it last

You cannot go wrong with Ottolenghi - this is a great book, and by the time of this review, we have made our way through the book. It's one that we will be going back to over and over again. Def purchase recommendation.

Great book. Very interesting recipes

I loved the book from the introduction onward. I already cooked the Dutch Baby (the very first recipe of the book) and it was a complete hit (I also tried it in my air fryer reducing quantities, and it worked!). The recipes are mouth-watering and perfectly feasible. I simply love it!

Recipes are good, the coil format was all damaged
