So, You Want to Become A National Board Certified Teacher: Workbook & Evidence Manual: A Candidate's Guide to Successfully Passing the NBPTS Certification Process

This is NOT for the updated process. If you are a new candidate, this book will not help with the new ways to complete your Boards.

I used this last year when writing my National Boards portfolio entries. It wasn't the book I used the most, but I did pick it up at least a few times per week over those intense five months of work on my portfolio. It helped me more than a few times in answering some of the national boards prompts.I would buy it again -- it was worth the money. It was one of the resources that I really believe helped me pass! :)

I am in the midst of my first attempt at my NBPTS and I DEVOURED the ideas and check-lists in this book. While I don't think it's a good practice that teachers have to buy supplementary material to demystify the NBPTS practice, it is what it is, and this book will help you get out of your own way and on to helping students.

Fantastic help during the National Board Portfolio portion of the NBPTS certification. With this insight, I was able to pass all three portfolios on the first submission attempt. I also used the companion Youtube videos.

Don't waste your resources, the specifications have changed and this book has some confusing suggestions. I'm sure before the boards changed some requirements this was accurate and helpful. Now it is outdated and confusing.

Helpful resource to study for the NBCT.
