Rising Strong as a Spiritual Practice

This is a recording of Dr. Brown sharing her work as documented in some of her previous books at a seminar. Although I read all of her books, her ability to bring it all together into a coherent narrative along with her wonderful talent for storytelling makes this a fantastic experience which I highly recommend. In addition, listening to this wonderful, brave person sharing and being vulnerable, walking her talk, is simply inspiring. Even if you already read her work, this recording adds color and insight and is well worth the investment. I highly recommend it.

Brene is a wonderful speaker and researcher who humorously shares all she has learned about vulnerability. She also stands strong in her truths and kindly relays them, even when in trying situations. We all have so much to learn from her. Listening to this CD multiple times is warranted to fully take in all presented. It’s great to listen to on car rides.

This is SO SO good! I've read most of BB's work. This encapsulates most of it beautifully. I downloaded this on Audible, then immediately bought a CD set for my friend and then went on to recommend it several more times. This is a MUST-LISTEN!

Very downhome and approachable presentation and discussion of the principles and application of rising strong. Listened to it start to finish during a road trip. It gave me hope and made me laugh. In addition to helping me move through some ongoing personal stuff (rumbling through grief) it also helped paint a picture of how important the palette of emotions are in these polarizing times. Nicely done and strongly recommended!

I'm glad I listened to this book. Brene doesn't present earth shattering information with this book but she does remind people about what's really important in life. Brene's personal stories made me feel better about my challenges and helped me get perspective on what I should be focusing on at home and work.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this on my drive to/from work. It was a great start and end to my work day. I caught myself laughing out loud and re-listening to portions because what Brene said was so profound. I highly recommend it!

Listen and learn ... about how to feel like a WHOLE person, and heal those childhood wounds!!

I am a very big Brene Brown fan and was delighted to find this audio (recent release). I think you'd get a lot out of it even if you hadn't been a long-time follower of hers.

Great "Feel good" writing

I love Brene Brown's work. However, with this particular title, I guess I was hoping for more about God. Her definition of spirituality is broad, and so I should have been aware ahead of time that she wouldn't delve into the Bible or Christianity too deeply. At times in the audio, I felt that her comments tasted a little judgemental towards Christianity and those who have deep convictions about Christianity. I suppose I have a different view of God than she does, and I'm truly okay with that. But I was left wanting more when it came to my own walk with God. I really didn't get much more than what I got from the book, "Rising Strong".
