Brilliant pen that outperforms its price point!
A beautifully presented product. Amazon delivered this pen to the wrong address and it took me some investigation to find it! I’m not letting this unfortunate start influence my review! I bought the brushed Titanium model which looks absolutely wonderful. The pen is reassuringly heavy without being overly so. I have used it with the cap posted and without, either is ok but with this pen I prefer it unposted. I started of fully flushing the pen with slightly warm water plus a couple of drops of dishwashing solution4-6 fills and empties. This was followed by the same process but with plain water. I then inked the pen. I have used my usual Platinum Carbon ink. I know the pen info says to not use carbon inks, but I have never had an issue with other fountain pens using this ink. Indeed Platinum recommend it for their fountain pens and is what I use all the time in my Platinum 3776 with a soft fine nib. My other Japanese fountain pens are also used with this ink and have never failed to start even after several weeks of non use. If I find otherwise with this Asvine J16 I shall post again. It’s early days yet but the page of writing I have produced with this pen and my Carbon ink have exceeded my expectations. The nib is exceptionally smooth to write with and I am hoping to improve my cursive handwriting. My Every Day Carry pen is my Platinum 3776 with a gold soft fine nib. I love this pen but my writing is a bit spidery and I wanted to try a broader nib which I did with the Asvine. As a writing experience the Asvine outperforms my Platinum 3776 and has a further advantage in that should I desire a different nib width, others are readily available. Early days yet, but I am well pleased!

Excellent buy!
This is a great fountain pen, which looks, feels and writes way better than you might expect for the price. The brushed titanium body feels tough and smooth and substantial, without being too heavy. I had no issues in holding the pen at the titanium grip section. The Jowo nib wrote smoothly and with optimal ink flow, right out of the box. I have not yet attempted to take out the piston but love that the pen comes with wrench for this purpose. Paired with a well-behaved Waterman ink, it is an ideal pen whether to carry out and about or to keep at home or in an office. The clear ink window means you are unlikely to run out of ink unexpectedly. Seldom have I been more pleased with a pen purchase.

Lovely nib and smooth writer
I like this pen. Pros: the Jowo nib is very smooth, comfortable to hold and not too heavy, well-made, understated looks Cons: it may be a bit expensive, but I think that it compares well with more expensive pens.

Good but not perfect
This pen is extremely well made. The piston is smooth and the titanium body is of excellent quality. Unfortunately, the Broad Jowo nib is not perfectly tuned. It is scratchy from left to right and will need fixing with micromesh but overall is a decent nib. I’d recommend it.

Platinum Piston fill fountain pen
I am very happy with this piston Asvine J16 fountain pen. It has a nice weight to it and looks lovely. I purchased the fine tip, as that is what I prefer. I suffer with arthritis in my hands and had been unable to use the fountain pen I had for years. This pen is comfortable in my hand and I wrote for a few hours with it, with no problems. The ink flowed properly and never stopped once. I used the Parker Quink ink meant for fountain pens, not the ink for the glass nib pens. I am happy that I'm able to get another of the good brands of nibs, to allow me to interchange the size of my writing when I feel like it. I feel I have value for the money I spent for this pen and I look forward to a long time in writing. Customer service have been very helpful with regard additional instructions for filling with the piston. There are also helpful instructions on Youtube.

Construction not high enough standard (did I get a faulty one?)
I wanted to love this pen, I had so many great review of this on youtube, blogs and amazon. The pen has a lot of potential as a metal bodied Jowo nib Fountain pen, unfortunately from my experience I can't recommend it. I had three issues: 1) The piston threads are very loose in the body of the pen. Meaning the piston nob turns easy and over time it unscrews itself from the pen. I have to re tighten the piston every two weeks (there is an included tool) back into the body. 2) The cap liner has come loose. Sometimes when I unscrew the pain the cap liner unscrews from the cap instead of the cap itself, meaning I have pen screwed into a plastic liner I have to awkwardly unscrew again and reassemble. 3) The feed seems to "burp" a lot of ink' in transit in a FP case meaning everytime I got to write I have to clean the section to stop myself staining my figners. As it it is this pen isn't really usable. Which seems out of keeping of all the reviews I have seen.

Best Chinese pen I've had yet
Wonderful pen. I got the broad nib. It has a very wet nib and is a joy to use. Careful you don't do any damage with the wrench. I had quite a hairy half hour when I went a bit further than my expertise but escaped lightly in the end, Its quite a large pen but not as heavy as you expect as Titanium is quite a light material. This has been the very best of the Chinese pens I've owned and the one I can give the most unequivocal recommendation to. Its a piston filler made of brushed Titanium - which needless to say is a premium material. I wouldn't be surprised if this pen edges up in price over the next few years. Its a lot of pen for £56.

If you're looking for a pen that writes beautifully, feels and looks premium, is of great value, then this is it. Just slap a premium logo on this and it will sell for 5x the price. But it's an Asvine and as far as I'm concerned, Asvine is the new premium for those who insist on quality and value. It punches much higher than its weight. Recommend highly.
