Traditional may be better...
Uv5r traditional is better imo. I mean, this one has some neat features, but this is not user friendly. You're learning a whole new radio. If your familiar with the uv5r, this one is pretty different. Still an excellent addition and if you're willing to put in the time, it's capabilities and features surpass the uv5r.

Easy to use radio as it's an upgrade from the UV-5R model.
I have the UV-5R radio from Baofeng, and I have the programming cable from it and it works with this radio for easy programming. I like the funtionality this radio has including a quick weather radio funtion. The full color display is a bonus.

Way better than standard UV-5R!
I will never buy a plain UV-5R again... this is so much better in every way. Will phase out UV-5Rs for these going forward!

Buy it, but compare item list to picture.
A lot of radio for the money,,, Would have got 5 stars but did not come with long antenna as pictured, just a short 6 inch one,,, Appears a little deceptive.
