A good kit that solves a problem
suzmei Dry Wall Patch KitsAs someone who has done a lot of drywall patching over the years, I was interested to see what this kit was like.In the past I have usually had to1. Square the hole2. Stick a piece of plasterboard into the hole.3. Leave it to dry4. Then skim over,5. Finally sand smooth when totally dry. This kit saves you needing to do 1 to 3 above. Before sticking a patch over the hole, you need to sand any rough edges that are proud of the surface, and wipe clean the area. You will then have a good clean surface to stick the patch over.Once it is firmly and neatly stuck on you are ready to gently skim over the patch. If you want an invisible finish, you will need to skim an area greater than the patch. This is because the patch will be slightly proud of the surrounding wall. When totally dry, it is then a matter of ideally using a flat sanding block or preferably a disk sander to smooth the surface down.Do not over sand as you do not want to see the mesh when finished. If patching in a cupboard where the finish is not too important, then these patches are a fairly quick fix.Pick a patch that will easily cover the hole, as the aluminium needs to be supported by the surrounding surface. This is a good alternative to the way I used to repair damaged walls, if time is important.
