The content of this book goes straight to the point on what any guitar musician expects in Second Series of a guitar book. More songs and with an intermediate theory topic and all examples very well tied to the concepts explianed. As a matter of fact I also bought the First one ofBert Casey's series for the same reason. And he has several books, anyone rest assured that you will like them, Amazon has a sample pages, and by looking at the Table of Content will give you angood indication of what you will get in the book.

If you are a beginner, you should buy this book. Very well laid out and easy to follow around. I can say it's the best instruction book I've ever purchased. You won't be sorry.

I loved the Casey's acoustic guitar book one. He covered various bass runs integrated with the strumming patterns presented. He also gave some very good instrumental versions of popular fiddle tunes and traditional songs in tablature for soloing.In book 2 it seems to me that the entire book is devoted to strum patterns on various rock songs from the 70s and 80s. I think that this kind of instruction would be great for a chapter or two in a book 2; but to devote an entire book to this was extremely disappointing to me.Book one he described how to go about creating good backup rhythms for a song and accompaniment to your vocals. Book two is just a series of strum patterns without the good instructional framework that I saw in book one.I compare it to a hastily produced poor sequel to a good movie.

After going through Bert Casey's beginning, I purchase this one. It is a great step by step book. Great instructor.
