Would this fit the 18V Reciprocating saw?

Yes! It fits that and my circular saw and my multi tool with room to spare! Very spacious and well made bag! Highly recommend.

Can you fit an average circular saw into this carrier?

Without actually putting a circular into the bag, my considered opinion is that an average saw would fit. I hope this is of help to you.

What size is the bag??

Closed the bag will fit a 18 1/2 long x 11 1/2 Wide x 7 1/2 inch high object. Bag sides are made of a canvas like single layer material . Bottom is double layer of same material with some kind of stiffener sandwiched in between. Unzipped inside dim are 18 1/2 long x 11 1/2 wide x 13 inches high ( makes great laundry bag this way). Bag is flexible and sturdy.

Is this actually "canvas", as advertised? I have the bag that came with my set, and it's not canvas by any stretch of the imagination, it's nylon.

Its absolutely NOT canvas. It's canvas like texture. But it's a nylon blend fabric.
