Duke Cannon Supply Co. Men's Shampoo Puck - Barrel Char No. 004, Over 175 Washes, Sulfate-Free, 4.5 oz.

My previous go-to shampoo was Body Shop Ginger Shampoo (ASIN: B00M78895Q). It was recommended to me because ginger apparently helps with thinning hair in Chinese herbal medicine. I'm not sure if it had an effect on that, but I liked the product and kept using it until it doubled in price within the last year.When looking for alternatives, the Duke Cannon soap pucks caught my attention because of their charming aesthetic. They look like something from an old-time pharmacy. There's something catchy about the name too: a solid-looking product proudly presented by a (fictional or historical?) authority figure, like Doctor Bronner's soap. The far-fetched claims of how lathery it is ("the undisputed king of lather!") add to the charm.I've been using it for a few months and it's been working well. I rub a few wet fingers over it until some of the shampoo is extracted, then apply it to my head. (I don't add water to the tin directly). The puck started out stiff but softened up a bit over time, probably from gradually accumulating moisture while using it. It doesn't take a lot to get a good lather going. Having it in a metal tin makes it especially convenient both for keeping around the shower and for traveling. Also nice that they are avoiding plastic waste this way. A downside to this form factor is that stubble and stray hairs can get transferred onto the bar, so it's not ideal for sharing among multiple people. I would describe the field mint scent as subtle but refreshing - could be masculine but also not too gender-specific. It's good to see a that product like this is proudly made in the USA. If I go back to ginger shampoo as my daily driver, I'd still keep one or two of these tins on hand for travel.

Does a great job

Initially found Duke Cannon from my local Boscovs dept store. Decided to try the shampoo later after the Boscovs bar was gone and Amazon had it better priced so I've already ordered in the past. Fell absolutely in love then saw another review talk about how they use it as an all over wash. I started doing that as well lathering up my hair and then both hands then grabbing my wash cloth and between what's on my head and hair I have no problems washing my whole body. Its replaced all old products and this last prime day snagged 4 orders (12 more). This is why I also decided to review it. This is all I plan on using for all my bathing healthcare needs going forward it's just that good. Plus it's super convenient to travel with!! My girl packs a ton of products when we go away I just now need a single piuck and I'm ready to go. Absolutely love the field mint it's by far my personal favorite. You really can't go wrong with the Duke's products.

I love the idea, and if it truly replaces 5 bottles, heck, even 4, of shampoo, I'll be making the switch, and I think after using this, its a real thing, more than a gimmick, very useful for travel, camping, limited space, etc. As far as this brand & product, just a few runs and great lather, rinsed clean, will have to try the combo with conditioner. Always very happy with everything I've tried from Duke Cannon, highly recommended...Update: have been using the 3 puck set and rotating them, has been 4 months of daily use and the bars are all just approaching about half size these will easily replace at least 3 bottles of shampoo, but likely much more, very happy 4 months in...UPDATE: April 10, 2025:So I have had the 3 puck sampler of bar sshampoo, and was skeptical of the claims of number of bottles of shampoo each puck replaces, and a year later I can confirm it's a pretty close estimate, I rotate the 3 for variety, and they are all about 2/3 through, they still have about 4 months left between them, these have been a game changer for me and can easily highly recommend...

In my new quest to limit the amount of plastics in my life, and thereby the world, I took a chance on a Duke Cannon product, my first to date. It will not be my last. Solidly made and I have no reason to doubt that this single shampoo puck will not last for months (and months probably). The fragrance is pretty darn nice as well and darn it, they're going to go ahead and entice me to order yet another one just to find "my" scent I'm afraid. Wet your hair down, rub this little bar all over, or even lather it up in your hands and just do what comes natural. Super sudsy, smells great and darn it if it doesn't keep my graying hair looking might good in the process. I am awful impressed by the fact that I suppose due to the moisturizers contained within or just magic, I've been able to not hit that "Head and..." bottle for weeks and that was at least a once a week routine! I've been using it as a beard shampoo in the evenings to remove my beard balm and it has done a fantastic job. I'm a Duke's convert and a big fan...I did hold back one tiny star just so they don't get a big head and face it, every product can be improved.
