Gets wax out better than Q-tips plus they exfoliate. They are a bit pricey but worth it.

These ear cleaners are 90% what I was hoping they'd be. I tried them out on myself before using them on our preteen son. I tend to keep my ears free from wax by using a standard Q-tip to dry out my ear canals immediately after a shower or bath and these cleaners are a bit more than what a person would need for ears which are mostly wax-free. These are for those somewhat forgotten (but not neglected altogether) ears. It pops in your head, "When was the last time I checked my kid's ear?" so you take a look to find a small garden in there. The scoop side of these tools are really great for general removal of softer ear wax. A soaking in a hot bath with the ears under water may be required first. There is quite a bit of flex in that side of the tool, so you won't want to mess with any rock-hard wax. The other side of the tool is what lost it a star, for me. It has a great shape for pulling the wax away from the canal, but the plastic is too hard for me and it hurts. While the tool itself has a bit of flex, the phalanges themselves seem to be too rigid to be comfortable, so one must really meter the pressure used. I would not use this side on a child as they would quite possibly be less inclined to let you help them remove their wax in the future.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Need a softer (maybe silicone?) substance- these are too hard and rough.

Great buy. Highly recommend getting this if you have a lot and I mean a lot of ear wax. My right ear for years have been producing much more wax than my left. In fact, it's a must that I clean out the right ear every single day or I will lose hearing out if that ear for at least a day. Since buying these I have been able to keep my ear clear for a while. There has only been one day when it did not help and my ear still blocked up. This was due to my body temperature and the room being hot aswell and the earwax has melted and pooled further In the ear (gross I know). Other than that this product is absolutely wonderful. If you're on the fence about buying and it's not priced very high buy one pack. I got the 3 packer because it was lower than buying one pack.
