Gentle, non-intimidating, and perfect for quick checks
These disposable thermometers for kids are accurate, easy to use, and very convenient. They give reliable readings quickly, making it easy to tell when a child has a fever without any fuss. I love that they’re single-use, which keeps things hygienic especially with kids. They’re gentle, non-intimidating, and perfect for quick checks at home or while traveling. Definitely a great option for parents looking for something simple and effective. My only complaint is you may need glasses to read the little dots, but that may just be my eyes! I think it’s a great price for the convenience.

Reliable and easy to use!
As a biomedical engineer, NextTemp disposable thermometers provide a reliable and hygienic solution for temperature measurement. Their accuracy, safety, and ease of use make them well-suited for clinical applications where infection control is a priority. However, improvements in response time and environmental sustainability could further enhance their value proposition. Overall, NextTemp remains a practical and effective tool in modern healthcare settings. Design and Material NextTemp thermometers utilize a liquid crystal technology to indicate temperature. The device consists of a small, flexible strip embedded with a heat-sensitive material that responds to temperature variations. The use of biodegradable or recyclable materials in the construction of the thermometer adds to its sustainability factor, making it an eco-friendlier choice compared to battery-powered digital alternatives. Accuracy and Performance One of the most critical aspects of any thermometer is its accuracy. NextTemp thermometers are clinically validated and designed to provide accurate readings within a narrow margin of error (typically ±0.2°C or ±0.4°F). However, as a passive temperature measurement system, its accuracy can be influenced by external factors such as ambient temperature and improper placement. Compared to digital or infrared thermometers, NextTemp requires a longer dwell time (typically 60 seconds) to reach a stable reading. This may be a minor inconvenience in fast-paced clinical environments but is acceptable for routine patient monitoring. Usability and Convenience The single-use nature of NextTemp thermometers simplifies logistics by eliminating the need for disinfection between patients. This is particularly advantageous in high-risk environments such as neonatal, intensive care, and infectious disease units where preventing cross-contamination is paramount.

Good to have as a backup to thermometers with batteries.
I haven't used these yet so I'm only giving 4 stars because I don't know how they work. I bought them because I was really sick a while back and wanted to take my temperature but all my thermometers, including the one I have for my pets weren't working because the batteries were dead so I bought these as a backup to the ones I own.

Super easy to use and slim to pack
These thermometers are really great for storage or travel, making them easy to access. Definitely recommend for college students who don’t want to store a whole thermometer/device every year. Super easy to read and get results! You get your value’s worth for sure

These are a fantastic little tool to have in your first aid kit or to carry one in your bag if you're a parent, grandparent or otherwise responsible for children. I don't think they necessarily take the place of your normal home thermometer because it's a bit wasteful using a single use one every time someone isn't feeling well, but to be able to have something so easy to carry, that comes already sterile out of the packet and can be thrown away afterwards rather needing to worry about cleaning it after use, makes it so much easier to be prepared on day trips, holidays, etc. The pack comes in a paper envelope type package that contains 12 single use thermometers, each sealed in its own sterile packet, similar to how items like syringes come packaged. The front is clear, allowing you to see the item inside. The back has clear instructions on how to use the thermometers, including how to position them in the mouth, how long to wait for a result, and how to read them correctly. There is also info about the thermometers, including how to read them, included on the envelope that the individual packages were in and an included leafelet that had larger and easier to read print if you struggle to read tiny print like me. The thermometers are about as thick as a piece of very thin cardboard/thick paper. The head is slightly wider than the handle and I found it very slightly uncomfortable when positioned correctly, according to the instructions, in my mouth, but not enough that it should be a problem for most adults or children to tolerate it for the ten seconds that it takes to wait for a result. The writing on both the instructions and the thermometer itself is quite tiny so it took me a moment to work out what it said, but it was very easy to work out what the reading was once I had done so. The reading on the thermometer seems to be accurate as far as I can tell, and they were so fast, and simple to use. I think they are a great idea for people who like to be prepared and for anyone who is responsible for kids in any capacity.

I've got no complaints so far. Used one at the same time as my mother and the results tracked. It's not the most comfortable thing to put at the back of the tongue (sharp edges), but for 10 seconds it's not too bad. The temperatures were kinda easy to read. I'm not 100% sure I read them correctly until I double checked the instructions. The way it works is that once you put it in your mouth, some of the green dots fade to black. It's quite readable, but not the easiest thing to remember. ("Is the last black dot the temperature or the first green dot?") Fortunately, the instructions can't be thrown away because they're also the storage container.

These disposable thermometers are a great idea. There are 12 single use thermometers in the pack; they are easy to use and easy to read. They give fast, accurate readings and they are convenient for travelling. Priced at £8.99 (at the time of review), it’s good value and compact to store until required.

These are very disappointing - minimal instructions and they just didn't give a reading - even though I tried several in the pack I couldn't see any reading with the dots on the thermometers - what a shame as I thought they would have been great to take on holidays in the family first aid kit. There was a QR code included for more instructions but even they were scant and mirrored the box instructions. It shouldn't be that hard to get them to work - but for me it just was a non-starter. I cannot therefore award any more than one star as they were ineffective - but maybe I just got a bad set.

The come in a cardboard envelope so the whole pack is easy to keep in your bag, so always have them to hand and no chance of breaking the thermometer while out and about. Each thermometer is clear and easy to read. Pop under your/patients tongue and wait then read. There are white dots on it that change to dark at certain temperatures and are very easy to read. Only problem with this type of thermometer as I found is if you have a fully blocked nose and so have to breath through your mouth you cannot keep your mouth closed long enough to get a correct reading, well I couldn't, as just could not hold breath long enough with feeling so rough. When nose is clear enough to breath through not a problem using them and a nice easy way to take the temperature, no having to either to handle a bulky non touching one or electronic one that needs cleaning after use. Each thermometer is very thin, made of I think plastic so will not make you feel sick when placing it in your mouth and holding it there. Children will have no problem with the size. No batteries to worry about, nor cleaning afterwards. Just use and dispose. Each one is wrapped separately so no chance of cross infection. With a pack in your bag ( 12 in a pack) you will never be searching the house for that elusive thermometer when you need it.
