First… I get this isn’t pottery barn type quality but it all needs another coat of paint. You will need a drill. The holes for the support beam for the mattress are not measured correctly so you will need to measure and drill your own holes. Lastly… we followed the directions meticulously. However, when it came to the desk portion, the holes were at different heights on the corresponding pieces of wood. The desk is not flush and is off on the left side by over half and inch. We were afraid that we had done something wrong and disassembled components. However, we had done it correctly. It’s just off. I contacted the support for Merax and get the same canned responses from a ticket desk overseas. They ask for more information each time and then say they can’t find it so go back to Amazon. The only option with Amazon is to disassemble and return or to get $25. No correct parts. No actual fix to the issue. And lastly… the bed is really creaky and makes a lot of noise with virtually any movement.

I set the loft bed up alone. The directions are clear, but you must pay attention to the pictures and small details. I wish there was something like plywood for the back of the shelves. Overall, the bed is Sturdy and has good storage space.

Super low quality. Damaged pieces, holes don't line up.
