Excellent, but final two discs of inferior image quality.
Excellent episodes throughout! It is a bit bewildering, however, that the two last discs contain two episodes each, at double the running time. As a result the resolution of the filmed material is inferior to the previous discs. The images are grainy and slightly blurred.

Great series.
Very enjoyable series with excellent DVD transfers! High quality encoding which is so much better than the travesty of such series as the latest Midsomer Murders where they've crammed 4.5 hours onto one disk! With "Gently" each disc has only one episode! Those were the days. Highly recommended purchase.

Started watching GG completely by accident just before Christmas, I found it so brilliant had to buy the boxed set!!

Terrific cop drama. Well cast. Contrasts the tedium and terror of policing very well.

Good but genuine Geordies will laugh a lot at the locations.
Excellent, but very confusing in parts, Durham coppers working cases in rural Northumberland, filmed in Ireland, Hexham by the Sea etc.,but, if you aren't a Geordie you'll not be trying to work out where they are...
