This device works really well

I had an external 3.5 Hard drive that stopped working that stored my pictures since 2003. I thought I lost everything already and then this device came. I’m glad I didn’t throw out my old hard drive. This is a memory a savior. This product is highly recommended!

This item is $50.99 at the time of this review and the score takes this price into consideration. This product does everything it advertises with some caveats. I was able to achieve the 10gbps read/write speed using a Samsung 990 Evo Plus NVMe M2 SSD. But this only happened when I connected the adapter to a Thunderbolt port. When connected to a standard USB-C (3.2 gen2) I was only able to achieve ~750MB/s about 25% below the advertised max speed. Can't blame this on the adapter as this could be protocol overhead or issues with lane bandwidth on my laptop and I have no way to definitively test. To some, 750mbs is an acceptable actual transfer speed given these factors. The low profile design is nice, I am a bit nervous about the M2 cards being so exposed and standing up vertically like that but from a versatility standpoint, id take that over less input compatibility or a bulkier design. The short cable it comes with is certainly rated for the 10gbs max speed but very short. I like the auto shut off and power on/off option in general. My biggest complaint is how outdated the controller is despite the $50 price tag. This uses a JMicron JMS583 which came out about 7yrs ago now and there are many more capable chips that I feel would be more appropriate for the cost of this adapter.

I’m transferring to a new PC, and didn’t have high hopes for this. Color me impressed! Zero issues, several drive tried, all worked just fine!

Read my old hard drive with no problems

I have several IDE and SAtA drives that I want to remove data from. This seemed to be the device to do it, but unfortunately it did not work. Setting it up per the instructions my PC would recognized that a new drive had been plugged in, but it classifies it as a removable one. Hence when you attempt to open that drive it asked for a disk. This happened whether it was a PC running Windows XP, 7, or 10 or a laptop running Vista. All virus protection and fire walls were shut down in hopes that would help, it did not. The box and instructions say there’s 24 hour technical support yet nowhere is there any contact information. Prior to buying this unit I had bought and identicallooking one from Zilkee and it had behaved exactly the same way and their technical support instead of trying to help just told me to return the product for a refund. Anyway, Amazon is getting this device back.

I knew I was ordering a new tool that would help me clone some drives and transfer data. However, expectations were far exceeded. This item feels built well and ALL 4 drive ports can be used at once with indicator lights. It is fast and effectively plug and play. You need one port for power, which I typically don't like but with how much this can do at once, it's definitely recommended. And besides that a single USB C handles all 4 connections. If I were to want to try something slightly different, it would be to have the sata ports be 90 degree upward so the footprint is smaller but as is before any drives this thing is about the size of your average computer mouse which is super nice! Even with drives, it's not that much bigger. Think the size of 3 2.5 inch HDD horizontal side by side. I used this to do a few clones and it went flawlessly. I do kind of wish for this cost it could do software-less cloning but there are many free software clones out there that I am not entirely bothered by this.

I am beyond happy with this purchase. I bought this specifically to replace an older adapter that consistently refused to read a PS3 drive, and this Suidek model worked perfectly right out of the box. What I love about it: Versatility: It is surprisingly hard to find a high-quality adapter at this price point that handles both SATA and IDE drives so seamlessly. Build Quality: The device feels superb and well-built. It arrived well-packaged and was incredibly easy to set up. Offline Clone Feature: Unlike my previous reader, this one has a standalone drive copy function that doesn't even require a PC. While I haven't had the chance to test the cloning speed yet, it’s a brilliant "pro" feature to have at this price. Final Verdict: I have yet to find a single negative. If you’re looking for a reliable way to recover data or bridge old drives to a modern USB-C connection, I fully recommend this. It’s a solid addition to any tech toolkit!

Worked perfectly. It opened up the files I needed from an old hard drive. Recovered over 700 documents and photos.

Très pratique, fonctionne bien, par contre je voulais cloner un disque dur vers un autre les deux branchés sur ce boîtier, et ça ne fonctionne pas pour cloner, bien que les disques soient reconnus avec des lecteurs séparés, mais en mettant le deuxième disque sur un autre adaptateur j'ai pu m'en sortir, bref si comme moi vous voulez cloner deux disques, il vaut mieux acheter 2 boitiers, si non pour tout le reste, c'est très pratique.
